Thanks.

I have vague memories of that mess.

Feels even sillier when the awards were only televised for another year or two.

Yeah, it's just childish all around. It would be funny if, say As the World Turns ended up winning that year. For the record, it was GH again, continuing a streak that lasted through 2000, the last year NBC aired the SOD Awards.

On a happier note ...

SOD Awards were 1984-1986 broadcast in first run syndication, 1987 there was no show, 1988-1991 broadcast on NBC daytime, 1992-2000 broadcast on NBC primetime.

Days won Best Show 1984-1986, 1988, 1989, 1991-1996. Santa Barbara won Best Show 1990. General Hospital won Best Show 1997-2000.

I always thought of the SOD Awards as the Days awards. Wasn't Days accused of stuffing the ballot box as well?

Two soap stars in this mid-September 1975 episode of Musical Chairs. Eileen Fulton (ATWT) and Don Stewart (TGL).

Thanks so much for sharing this @Franko I kept wondering when Don's episode would appear as they had posted a short of it. I had no idea Eileen was ever on the show. There must be 4-5 episodes of them if they are still surviving.

@zanereed @Mitch64 @slick jones @vetsoapfan @Khan @Soapsuds @Tisy-Lish @All My Shadows @wonderwoman1951 @Paul Raven @SoapDope78 @Soaplovers @Speed Racer @GL Oldtimer @DeeVee @Spoon @P.J. @Vee @DramatistDreamer

Sorry for anyone I forgot to tag.

And thank you for remembering to tag folks. (I need to start doing that.) Here's hope that more of Eileen and Don's week will show up.

that was my impression, as well. didn’t recall GH being involved. but, hey, why not!?

as i recall, at some point SOD disallowed ballots that had been photocopied — hence the big purchase.

Thanks for the tag! I had never heard of this show. It's funny how different Eileen's voice was later. I would cringe whenever Lisa sang on the show. Don's voice is exactly what I thought it would be. GL used to have him sing at Christmas, but I hadn't heard him otherwise. (I guess GL didn't believe in having a lawyer moonlight as a lounge lizard. lol)

We now know that at least three then-current CBS soap stars appeared on Musical Chairs, Mary Stuart, Eileen Fulton, and Don Stewart. Michael Nouri also supposedly appeared on the show at some point. I'm curious if anybody from Love of Life or The Edge of Night appeared. We can presumably rule out anyone from The Young and the Restless, since it was L.A.-based and Chairs taped in New York.

Thank you. Wow, I don't think I have ever heard of this show!
