Note: "BTG" will be the official acronym used for "Beyond The Gates" on the SON Community. Posts/threads created should always start with "BTG:" going forward.

For reference, the current soap acronyms are "B&B" (The Bold and the Beautiful), "DAYS" (Days of our Lives"), "GH" (General Hospital") and "Y&R" (The Young and the Restless). "ALL" is for all shows, while "AMC" is for All My Children.

Also, #BeyondTheGates is the official hashtag to be used on social media, per CBS.

Facebook and Instagram pages have been created, but are not active. Will share the link when they are officially available.

Manny posted that on page 80.

That doesn't mean they'll be four-months ahead in shooting, though. They're likely sticking to the common-placed six-to-eight weeks tape-to-air model that all but Days of Our Lives employs.

I feel like the show he ran and its tone and casual death make him still part and parcel of those decisions. I understand his team repping for him, but it's more complicated than that.

Wasn't another young woman brutally murdered in the very same storyline?

I agree, even if he didn't make the decision, that was the world he created. Given his general contempt for the women on the show it's hard to imagine him disagreeing.

Prayer Circle for me.  I am going to be really annoyed when Vanessa joins this show and I actually have to turn on CBS😂

Finally! And this is all I was asking for, just a tidbit more of what's going on with the creation of this show. Atlanta for taping? THANK YOU! I wholeheartedly approve and it's what I wanted all along. This almost reminds me of that Tyler Perry show. The one that tapes at his Atlanta studio but is set in DC.

ETA: The Oval.

I wonder what studio they’ll be using in Atlanta, or if it’s Tyler’s. He did say he hoped to use his studio lot for productions from outside his company as well, namely from other black creatives.

That means they season would wrap in September. The show is a midseason replacement in the 24-25 season. A renewal would start in September. CBS Daytime now goes by the primetime model.

If the specs were right, I'd love for Tyler Perry Studios to be used. But, if production cannot bring in their own cameras etc then I'd be against it. The camera work by Perry at the studios feels very... web series level. Here are a list of studios on the lot. There are twelve of them. In comparison, here are the list of studios at Television City; I know The Price is Right filmed in Stage 33, which is one of the larger studios.

The Young and the Restless films on Stage 43 (109’ x 110’), while The Bold and the Beautiful films on Stage 31 (130’ x 110’). All of the studios at Tyler Perry Studios are 100' x 200', except for Studio 1 (a.k.a. Oprah Winfrey soundstage), which is at 154' x 252'.

Not for the past few seasons; season thirty-seven of The Bold and the Beautiful began September 21, 2023, while season fifty-one of The Young and the Restless began October 3, 2023.

Emily, maybe others. I think they were all the Text Message Killer/Diego Alcazar.

I don't dislike her as much as others; I feel like she did what she could with what she had, and felt she did well as transferring the soap from the east to west coasts, and keeping [most] of her cast on board. Plus, the HD production for All My Children was some of the best, ever!

OPE!

AMC did look really good that last year after it moved to the west coast. Before that? Those last few years in NYC were dreadful, but I’m not sure how much JHC could have done with the limitations in place.

I feel like The Gates will have a slightly different production model vs. the other 4 soaps. We’ll have to wait and see, but I feel like they’re trying to do something slightly different, but still relatable to daytime audiences. I also think shooting in Atlanta will naturally give it a different tone.

Since it will be set in the DC area and the one character is a former Senator, it would be nice to get a CAPITOL reference.

Why?  CAPITOL never even bothered featuring African-Americans throughout their entire run, even though D.C. was just as heavily populated by African-Americans then as it is today.
