There is also the fact that not everyone loves every job they have ever had.  It’s okay.  I don’t know why fans take it so personally when a performer speaks out about a part or show.

I don’t think this interview is worth the venom EB has spewed.  But I also don’t care if she had said she hated her time on Y&R.  She’s clearly got a life and career full of what interests her.

Truthfully, the older I get the more I have begun to be annoyed by some of these soap actors that clearly hate their jobs but stay out of security or inertia.  We can see it onscreen! That’s just as bad if not worse than saying you are now above soaps IMO.

On Sanchez and Winter's podcast He Said, Ella Dijo, the two (who are also married) weighed in on Braeden's comments. "I was like, 'You're messing with my girl? Not happening,'" Sanchez said.

"Nothing Eva said was inappropriate," Winter said. "This guy is completely out of line in my opinion because he doesn't know what Eva's financial stance was at that time in her career. I guarantee you he was making a ton more money than she was."

Sanchez defended Longoria and directed her comments to Braeden, saying, "You were out of line. What you said was completely uncalled for."

Winter added, presumably while sipping some piping hot chamomile, "This guy is trying to find a way in his older age to get back in the spotlight for whatever reason and to make it a point to defend daytime, which she was not attacking."

I work in an industry with a lot of “aging talent.” How Eric behaves and what he says to me is an indicator of two things:

1) his narcissism

2) his age

The picking fights, the quick to react and slow to understand, I see it so often with older narcissist afraid of loosing their public status. What they don’t realise is so often they can maintain their status by being more selective about what they say, versus feeling like they need a headline every week.

I do get a sense of that with EB.

He still seems to see himself and Victor in the same light as 20 years ago, but things have moved on.

Of course he is entitled to keep working until he drops, but you think at age 82 now experiencing some health issues and having trouble with his lines, he might want to step back -maybe reduce his appearances and Victor's presence on the show.

    • What consequences are there to suffer? He didnt commit any crime and everyone already hates him. If anything this will set back the progress he's made with Naomi
    • Yes and I also loved how she focused on Chelsea and Naomi when she spilled Bill's involvement in all of this.
    • Danny: Don't drink it. Just hold it. Rocco drinks three laced cups.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
