As I've said before, I like RSW, but I agree with you guys about Alex. I heard Wilson on a podcast going on and on (and on) about the work put into creating the character, and how hard he's worked to make Alex completely different from Ben. I mean, it's laughable.

I do think RSW has done fine with what he's been given, but the writing for Alex (character AND plot) is just terrible, and couldn't be much worse.

He's just trying too hard. He doesn't seem to get that Alex is supposed to be in 30's and not some walking hard on fratboy. I agree with you that the writing doesn't help at all, but there are things that he, himself can do differently.

I mean, the character is different from Ben, but in a worse way.  And when the original character was a serial killer that's hard to do.

Alex is such a strange caricature of a person.  No one today would dress like that or act like that.  You have to assume once they "differentiate" Alex from Ben, RSW will end up playing Ben 2.0 without the serial killer tendencies.

I agree with you about Alex as a caricature, but I place the blame on the writing.

I hear you on the fratboy stuff, but what are those things he can do differently? I don't know what can be done with a character written that way.

Just play it more maturely. Not act drunk the entire time lol. Despite the writing, I still think that some of the things that Alex does, like the way he says a line, all the crap with the straw and the ice cream cone are on RSW. Someone needs to tell him that sometimes, less is more

Watching and they continue with the Johnny and Ava garbage again?🙉

The Golden Girls reference was terrible and so didn't fit the scene.

Writing is partly to blame, but I think RSW makes certain acting choices to make Alex seem different to Ben that are weird.

This exactly.

Alex was supposed to be like early Justin, who goes around trying and succeeding in getting into many ladies pants until, he falls for the unattainable woman. You can be that way and not be immature…

when Michael Fairman had the official Days podcast, one of the guests interviewed was their acting coach, so they had one in the last five years.

Carlivati is to blame for Chandler being MIA.  I doubt they will recast but there are no signs of Sonny cheating. The previews haven't hinted at it. Unless it's Leo because he's seen living at the Kiriakis house during the holidays and Will isn't happy seeing him there.

I generally agree with you Soapsuds but why is Carlivati to blame? He's the writer. He's not the EP. Corday could sign Chandler to a contract which would force Carlivati to write for Will.

Another wasted episode! Zach Tinker was put on contract to have meaningless conversations with RSW?👎

But from what I've seen from that time, Justin never came off like a sexual predator 😂

I do like the brother chemistry that they have though
