A DAYS character without a love interest?  Surely, you jest, lol.

If she can't exist without a man they should bring back Brandon. He's the only love interest of Sami's who didn't make me want to hit the TV. It keeps Sami and Nicole crossed without putting pairings in limbo.

Who?  Oh!  Him!  Yeah, they should totally bring back whatshisface.

Or he could perform a massive retcon and reveal that Marlena, who returned from the dead in '91, is really Samantha, and that the real Marlena is still being held captive on some island.  #ATaleof2Docs

OMG!  Could you imagine DH playing Sam, Hattie, Marlena and Mardevil on occasion?  I am sure that would work out well.  Although it is odd they didn't make more use of Deidre Hall having a real life twin and established twin on the show for years and years and killed her off so early on.

Actually, it would be "SamanDevil."

But, if you think about it: Samantha could be paired off with John, Hattie could be paired off with a returning Chris Kositchek and Marlena could be reunited with Wayne's Roman.  It's a win-win-win situation.

What more could you ask for then 3 times the Marlena and 3 times the Roman?  Sam can have Wayne's Roman.  Marlena can keep John.  Hattie and Chris K. could be happy off screen for the rest of their lives.

You know, at this point, I'm willing to explain away all this demonic possession crap as mass hallucinations brought on by ergot poisoning.

LOL!!

Eh, I wouldn't mind if they made Lucas and Sami have a long-distance relationship - all his other pairings have bombed and he works better as a supporting character to other people to bounce off.

Lucas is on so little that they could get away with him being paired with an off-screen Sami. It doesn't work with EJ. Now today they have EJ saying Nicole is the one he really wants. Everyone in this story just looks silly and it's all to accommodate AS bolting yet again.

LK looked stunning today. Enjoyed her scenes with Chad.

I was also surprised that I enjoyed the Nicole and EJ scenes. I've never cared for Nicole but her scenes hit home.

The rest of the show was ff material.

Is AS no longer going to appear? Lucas and Sami left?  Is EJ and Sami story going to be left hanging?

I don't think it is the comings and goings that are inherently problematic. They limit what can be told but that doesn't mean nothing good can be told.

But you can't tell stories that require follow-up.

They should have had Sami kidnapped for a long while until she was ready to give the show several months for a proper resolution - the entire arc
The problem here was if they were only getting AS for two or three weeks, they should have taken that time to film scenes of Sami in captivity that they could sprinkle through the show for months to show she was still out there and keep the flame burning slowly until she had three or six months to give them for the escape and a proper end to that story.

Doug wasn't aware that he was possessed by the devil and Marlena in the original story wasn't aware, so I guess not.

    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
