Thoughts:
Appetisers? Oh la-la. It looks like the boom-boom is coming back into Anita's and Vernon's marriage. And I love seeing it. Jewelry and lingerie? Oh la-la. Vernon is just doing all the right things. I love it.
Joey relying on Bill's assistance is scary. Real scary. And it makes me wonder just how far back it goes.
The fact that Dana continues to clock Hayley and the game she is poorly playing should really stand out more to her than it actually is. It is like they say: keep your friends close and your enemies closer, and Dana is an enemy. A glaring one.
Jacob trying to fluff up what happened is not going to make it go away. He has just got to be more honest with Naomi and trust his wife.
I like that Chelsea is for Anita and Vernon still having fire in their marriage, and Katherine needs to remember that she is living in their house, so they should be allowed to have sex on their own couch. They have earned that.
Yes, kick those shoes off, Anita! Get into it! Be with your man! Yasssss!!!!
Dirty talk? I like the vibes of this so much. Get it! Yes!!!! We know who dominates in that bedroom. Ba-bam! Not another interruption, but good ol' Vernon is not taking them anymore. Get the family OUT of that house and get your wife! Enough cucking.
Not Dana airdropping her contact information into Hayley's phone. This is why I have an older phone that does not have that feature and even if I did, I would turn it off.
The Dupree family members commiserating at Uptown is brilliant.
Bill calling Dana satan was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. That came straight from Dani's influence.
Hilarious that both Chelsea and Katherine are making fun of Jessica and Tyrell ditching the cotillion to have sex. 🤣 Even more uncomfy for him, and it is nice to see him squirm about it.
It is nice seeing Vanessa being transparent about still going through her grief about Douglas' death and that finally cleaning out his locker really just reignited things.
Joey is surely not taking the hint that Vanessa is pulling back from him, and it is not something he is liking.
Not the Impaler wanting a meeting... I can only imagine they are not happy with what has gone down.
Damn. Vernon booked a hotel room! A romantic getaway where not a single family member can walk in on them. Sometimes, those kinds of getaways are so important. And yes, the "do not disturb" plaque is up and in use!
Notes:
I could tell from the first scenes that this was going to be a Slater breakdown. An absolute ease and air to the episode. And paired with Page (the second-best scriptwriter), this is a winning episode from beginning to end.
The continued approach to sex positivity on this soap is unlike any other. I love seeing characters like Anita and Vernon still have that electric spark. Just because you are of a certain age does not mean the desire and urge for sex just disappears.
