The last name is Faversham.  Miles Faversham is a new character. He is the grandson of a former character Lili Faversham who was on canvas from July 1998 to February 2001.

Ms. Lili Faversham was an eccentric elderly wealthy woman who lived in Lugano Switzerland. She owned a bank, and collected art.  The show wrote that her backstory was that before she became elderly, she had held grand society balls and had hosted art auctions.  The backstory also was that, during that active society time in the past, Ms. Faversham had befriended Princess Gina (or Hope-brainwashed-to-be-Gina).

In the late 1990s, Hope was researching what had happened to her during her missing years. (The missing years when Hope was presumed dead, while Kristian Alfonso was on Falcon Crest and Melrose Place).

The trail eventually led to Ms. Faversham who told Hope she was a princess, which Hope did not know.

This was part of Hope learning that Stefano had programmed Hope into being an art thief who pretended to be Princess Gina.
So Hope learned during this 1998 investigation that she had been this art thief during her missing years.

The Faversham history ties into "Beyond Salem" because the same "Hope/Gina-the-art-thief" was the person who originally stole the Alamainian peacock back in 1991 and pawned the 6 jewels.

So in Beyond Salem, we have the new character Miles Faversham who is Lili Faversham's grandson... and Miles' wife Sophie.  Like Lili, they host exclusive parties.  But instead of high society balls in Switzerland, they give sex parties in New Orleans.  Their family history would have told them about Gina/Hope's art thievery history.  Instead of respecting art as Lili did, they stole the amethyst.

Millicent Martin as Ms. Lili Faversham

^ Krista Allen is playing Billie Reed in this clip.  Billie and Roman are working as ISA agents, but working undercover as fake personas.

Hope and John are pretending to be Gina and John, so as to learn more info about Hope's past from Ms. Faversham.

Edit to add: fyi, during the time that Stefano had programmed Hope to be Gina the art thief, Stefano had also caused John to work with Gina on stealing the art.  Just another part of John's convoluted history - which he had been unaware of until Hope investigated her past.

I'd rather see some post-production value increase. It's been too dark, especially if they're using 4K lights and non-4K cameras. There needs to be a change, because even the DOOL App behind-the-scenes content looks better than what the show is putting out.

See example:

April 2020 was an improvement from 2016–2019, but it still has some serious problems with lighting and post-production quality.

    • Aww, yeah it's very heartbreaking and I mostly enjoyed the Nola/Vanessa scenes because they finally let their walls down and came together in a beautiful moment. So Nola was at the hospital already and bumped into Vanessa, who had MRI papers that fell out of her hand and Nola went down to pick them up and asked her what was going on. Later, Vanessa confided in her about her disease. Then, Nola told Zachary on the beach (he prodded her and already alluded to knowing something was going on with Van), and then Vanessa found out she told him and got a little upset. Now, however, Nola is strangely absent while everyone is mourning her death. I'm curious if Nola will actually tell people about her MRI results. I would assume so. Only Nola, Rick, Roger and Zachary know anything, although there is the MRI results letter from the mail that everyone has missed seeing at home. I'm sure it'll all come out at some point. But... I just saw the next episode and the opening already cut Vanessa out and added Dahlia and Zachary. I guess Maeve is gone for a long time

That will break my heart seeing the town continue to mourn her and assume she's dead. I can't wait to see her return though, and I have to imagine feelings will be torn between loving that she's alive and being very angry she did all of this. While I hate what Vanessa is doing, I'm happy to hear it's not totally against her character. I think you're right, had Henry still been around, she wouldn't put him through this. I'm still surprised she is with Bill, though. I get her feelings on Matt, because she wants him to move on, but still very heartbreaking. I'm glad this was Maeve's choice to have a break vs. being fired.
    • Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.
    • I can see Kim being that way. Well, Kyle didn't have to say yes. LOL. The suicide attempt feels plot-driven. I don't know if even Long could've made it work. She'd spent so much time trying to make Reva and Kyle into a couple, it feels odd to just have them give up. Not to mention how odd it is to have Maeve agree to marry him. Re Charita---surely they could've at least tried  finding clips with who was still there. Maybe they wouldn't have been "big" moments, but surely she'd interacted with Ross, Vanessa, and Henry. Vanessa had dated Ed, FCOL. But Mo and Rick were there---surely they could've bothered to find some clips of her with them (and they did interact a fair amount) and used them. And with Ed they could've found some shot of her talking to him and just not cut to whoever was playing Ed in the clip. That to me is what feels lazy---they had more than a year to figure it out, and they went with a bunch of photos. If you were sort of centering it on Rick anyway---then find clips with them and use 'em.
    • I definitely think it's time to write off Nina for good. I think her killing Drew might actually be a good idea. She could completely lose it after losing both Sasha and Willow and she ends up murdering Drew and eventually she gets caught and sent away to prison for a long time.
    • I hope it's okay to post this here(as in from DC)
    • Quick question - did Christie and Leann share any scenes together in the '80s before Leann left the show?
    • This is the perfect way to encapsulate the situation. So many morally-reprehensible stories were foisted on the show and its characters in ATWT's dwindling years. Rape should never be used as a cheap plot device or in a way that degrades the victim. Jack's sexual assault was another heinous example of how nasty the the show's tone had become. The fact that people like Hogan Sheffer, Ron Carlivati, Jean Passanante, Charles Pratt, Dena Higley, etc., somehow end up winning awards for their material, decimates the credibility and integrity of the awards, IMHO. Soaps used to have a solid moral core and did not originally wallow in the gutter, rolling around in filth and depravity just to be cool, hip, campy, or whatever else modern-day PTB aim for. Thank you. Cruelty, degradation and misogyny are not components which lend themselves to successful soaps, which have always been predicated on warmth, family bonds, and providing a comforting haven for their audience. The genre has been crippled because the cynical and ignorant executives in charge understand neither the shows nor what the audience wants to see.
    • Beverlee was on a whole other level from Kim. It's not like they were in competition with each other. I get the feeling that Kim had a slight problem with the super-professional, serious cast members who just wanted everyone to be prepared and do the work, as she seems to like having fun on set. (She's made a few cracks about Chris Bernau being like that). Bev was definitely one of those. But they didn't work together that much. Yeah, they made her manic and also much weaker. She always had a vulnerability, but wanting to kill herself over that guy? No way. Not only that, he didn't leave her! She insisted he marry Maeve. When they did the tribute to Bert/Charita, the compilation of scenes with her showed how much the cast had been almost totally turned over in a relatively short period of time. Nearly every shot was of her by herself because most people she had worked with had been fired, left or been replaced. I assume they couldn't show her with people who hadn't been replaced, like Don Stewart, Elvera Roussel, or Robert Newman because they would have had to pay them for using their clips. It's dreadful to watch. Like she had no connection to the current show.
