Nader was absolutely wonderful and so memorable as Dex on Dynasty. I loved him with Alexis and enjoyed him straight to the end of his run with the Sable story. Even though I remember his personal life issues were splattered across the Soap Press in the late 90s/early 00’s I always remember him being a complete class act on screen. RIP indeed.

A truly talented actor, he had wonderful stage presence.

I was very young at the time but did watch him as Dex Dexter. My sisters and I used to yell "DEX DEXTER" when we were supposed to be sleeping to annoy our father. I haven't thought of that memory in a long time.

He will be missed.

Outside of SMG Kendall scenes, this is my earliest memory of Dimitri as well. And I always loved him with Erica and if there was anyone who could get her away from Jack, I felt it was him. Oh, the good memories of their pairing.

RIP

Great pic! He had such a dapper, sexy, almost 'Old World' presence. I can see why he was cast as Dimitri on AMC and against Joan Collins on Dynasty.

My schoolfriends and I (avid Dynasty fans, all) called him Sexy Dexy. What can I say -- we were elementary schoolers!

Goes without saying but they really don't make leading men like him anymore. Glad that after AMC he was able to work through his addictions and make it to the other side, setting up a whole new life for himself. Honestly, I am surprised someone as debonair and talented as Nader didn't hit it even bigger, Clooney styles. But maybe he had a happier life away from the limelight in the end.

    • Same here.  "Laugh-In" reruns on Nick-at-Nite helped me through the Gulf War.
    • Tessa clarified a few years ago that she is gay and not bi.   I find it offensive that the show is teasing her with Daniel. Mariah told Sharon she went emotionally/mentally to a dark place, and while she was out of town on business she got drunk and did something bad.  But Mariah didn't say she cheated.  The show wants us to assume that, but she didn't say that.  She could have taken drugs or who knows what.  All we know is that she feels shame and doesn't want Tessa to know.  Mariah says the inner darkness is due to the longterm influence of Ian in the past, and she hasn't healed from that. With a *good* writer, we could have organic conflict in the Teriah marriage, without cheating.  But JG isn't a good writer.
    • Was that before his accident? I think it was. Most of us have never seen him before it happened.
    • I wonder if Falcon Crest wasn't seen as macho enough for them.  I first saw Dynasty on FX around 1994 or 1995. I think it ran for a few years, although I may be off as I moved and lost the channel for a while.
    • -- The fact that we know the mess that Billy made when he renovated the Chancellor place makes his entire sadsack attitude pathetic. I wanted someone to smack the hell out of him. -- And why did Diane care so much about Billy's opinion beyond hearing he liked it better before? Why continue pressing him on it? Josh Griffith clearly thinks this is a storyline, and it isn't. It never was. -- So Mariah cheated on Tessa offscreen. OF COURSE it was offscreen. Then we got this ridiculous, convoluted explanation of why she cheated, ending in her announcement that she doesn't have any character at all. GMAFB.  -- Now we'll get the cliche garbage of Mariah confessing to Tessa, who turns to Daniel for sex even though she's a lesbian. (Please spare me the comment that Tessa is bi.) -- The excuse for Summer leaving town? Also pathetic. Why in the hell would she have to leave town to find a new creative director for Marchetti?
    • I vaguely recall it surfaced on either TNT or TBS around 1993 or so but I could be wrong about the channel. By 1997 when this article was written Knots was still airing on TNT, Dallas was on the old TNN network (which today is Paramount), and Dynasty was on…well I don’t even recall now but feel like it was either E!  or Bravo. TNN ran Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas together in the evenings for years surprised they didn’t just pick up FC to resurrect the trifecta.
    • I think you're thinking of the dress she wore on April 15 from her Ebony cover shoot when Andre had to put her in bed.
    • @Maximthank you for such a thoughtful reply. I have printed it out so I have it with me as I watch most of the soap clips on the YT app on my TV. I've always wanted to get into Edge of Night, but I didn't no where to start.
