  1. Erica did not interact with Palmer Cortlandt until 1983, when she and Palmer became friends in their joint effort to bring down Lars Bogard. Erica did not interact with Liza Colby at all until the mid-‘90s, when Liza became station manager of WRCW (where Erica’s talk show was being produced). After Erica moved back to Pine Valley from NYC into Linden House, she didn’t seem to interact much with Dixie (even though Dixie was Palmer’s niece and Opal’s daughter-in-law, who were both good friends of Erica’s).
  2. I believe they tried going there in the early 2000s w/ Laura and Bianca.
  3. “I will NOT have her piggy, little face on the cover of MY magazine!!”
  4. AMC didn’t really start to rise in popularity/ratings until around 1972-1973, with Erica’s abortion storyline, the Jason Maxwell murder trial (Mona Kane did it), as well as a presumed-dead Phillip returning from Vietnam shortly thereafter.
  5. Yes. While I feel Susan Lucci is a better actress than most people give her credit for, the quest to get her an Emmy sometimes prevented more worthy actresses of obtaining nominations - particularly Kate Collins, IMO. Kate should’ve been nominated for her work in 1987-1988 (and WON, IMO), as well as nominated for her work in 1991-1992.
  6. Remember when Erica went to jail for insider trading, and all the inmates LOVED her?? ”This is America - Freedom for Erica!!” And then that hip-hop boyband serenaded her from the yard or whatever, with their “Erica Kane” track?? I have to admit - I sort of enjoyed the “train wreck” aspect of it all.... but it was such a stark contrast to when Erica went to prison in 1983 for shooting Kent Bogard - and the inmates LOATHED her, with her cellmate, Kathy Bates (‘Belle’), tormenting her daily. Much more realistic.
  7. Daisy/Monique was introduced on AMC in 1980, correct?? Anyway, she wasn’t really a bitch, was she?? Her backstory does have shades of Alexis, though (or vice versa). Erica, while certainly a bitch, was more lighthearted than Alexis. Which soaps had wealthy families from the very start, predating the prime-time soaps of DALLAS and DYNASTY?? I can think of the Agnes Nixon soaps, with the Tyler Family (matriarch: Phoebe English Tyler, AMC) and the Lord Family (patriarch: Victor Lord, OLTL). I don’t believe GH got one until the Quatermaine Family in the late ‘70s.
  8. I think they were referring to any temporary replacement actresses to Lucci as Erica (if Susan had gotten ill, ect.).
  9. 1994 was an interesting year for Erica - after she had been found ‘Not Guilty’ for the “attempted murder” of Dimitri (due to temporary insanity), she has to “start over” and pick up the pieces of her life. Erica decides to return to modeling, since she had subsequently lost Enchantment, but the aging Erica is met with a lukewarm response - with the young models saying, “Erica, WHO??.” The whole thing had a Sunset Blvd. vibe - and was quite interesting to see Erica in this position. There’s a funny scene where Erica locks an Eastern European model in a broom closet in New York, a la I Love Lucy, so the model who dissed her won’t get the gig. What’s even funnier, though, is when her gal pal, Opal, feels sorry for her, so she offers Erica the opportunity to be spokesperson for her and Palmer’s chain of fried chicken fast food restaurants. Erica, of course, respectively declines. I believe this is around the time Jackson and Erica sleep together in NYC, while he was married to Laurel.
  10. Nathalie Paulding portrayed Bianca during the anorexia storyline.
  11. Well, who else?? The anorexic one was good, but was she on for only 2 years (or less)??
  12. I’d say the consensus on the “BEST” Bianca would be Eden Riegel. To answer your question regarding Erica, I never remember hearing about any replacement actresses to Lucci. If she got very sick, she must’ve soldiered through..... or perhaps the script was rewritten to accommodate her illness?? Of course, it’s entirely possible; I just have never read anything regarding that (nothing is mentioned in the 2 AMC books I own).
  13. Margo was a HOT MESS!! (Btw, Carol Burnett has stated that, when she first started watching All My Children, Margo was her favorite character)
  14. VERY sad news. Dimitri was always my favorite of Erica’s leading men.
  15. Michael Nader Dies: ‘Dynasty’, ‘All My Children’ Actor Was 76 https://deadline.com/2021/08/michael-nader-dead-dynasty-all-my-children-actor-was-76-1234821886/
