Yeah speaking of Cady's time at OLTL, they first hired Mary Beth Evans as Paige but ATWT quickly put her on contract as Sierra and she never aired on OLTL. Then they hired  Kimberlin Brown on a recurring basis but she left  but  return to YR in June 2005.  They hired Cady on a recurring basis in August 2005 but she said she was only doing it for like 5 months & left in January 2006. Unless they didnt know Paige was gonna remain, why not hire Alexandra Neil then? When Neil took over as Paige in January 2006, the role became contract and Neil Lasted 18 months before Paige left town in July 2007.

I’m so glad they had Johnny have a REAL reaction to Ben calling Allie. When was the last time someone mentioned Ben also strangled Will, and now his whole family acts like it never happened.

I fast forwarded all of the Ben and Ciara wedding scenes because I will never accept all of these characters loving Ben.

Johnny/Chanel/Allie/Tripp continue to be the best part of the show. I’m curious to see if they go the route of having Tripp and Johnny not like each other. That would be interesting to see.

And, where did Melinda’s hate boner for E.J come from? Am I forgetting something from the past?

I imagine to create tension between him and Allie and explain why she'd start turning more and more to Chanel.
With the added benefit that if the spoiler posted earlier is correct

I can see them spicing up the triangle that way. Not sure I'd be captivated by it but it is pretty classic soap.

    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
