In her defense,  she really wasn't given any material to work with the last time. The biggest impact she had was her fight with Quinn. Otherwise, she was a dull character and a watered down version of herself the last go around. This time she has a story and it promises to shake up the entire canvas with her being Finn's momma.

Sheila has been played out since 1998. I swear that character is Bradley's "break glass in case of emergency" device.

We saw Sheila pregnant onscreen once on Y&R (Scott Grainger Sr.'s child that was miscarried which lead to the baby switch) and once on B&B (Mary Warwick). Then there was Diana Marone on B&B, and twins Daisy and Ryder Fisher on Y&R. I don't know how old this Finn character is supposed to be but the only explanation I can think of is that Sheila had a child while in nursing school and then placed it for adoption. Maybe the father is John Silva. Remember when Sheila first arrived in Genoa City there were some hints that she and John Silva shared a past but for whatever reason Bill Bell didn't expand on that.

It seems like Ted King's character Jack Finnegan (Finn's adoptive father) might be the biological father as well as being the adoptive father.  They are showing him talking to himself in his mind (but not aloud) trying to figure out whether he should say something.  And he was very concerned today when Steffy and Finn decided to post online or text or email the wedding invitations for anyone to see - he clearly didn't want someone to happen to see it.

edit to add:
If Jack is not the biological father, he knows something, or someone, connected to Sheila.  The spoiler for later this week is that someone is concerned when a mystery woman arrives.  Presumably that's about him and Sheila?
