Lord...just terrible. Why would she kill him?

Since she recently told Claire she was raped as a teen, she probably thought, "Why not rid the world of another rapist and frame Belle at the same time?; then I can get Shawn all to myself. Two birds with one stone." Plus, maybe something about being a good friend to her new "bestie" Claire.

That's... genuinely a terrible resolution and will just quickly wrap up the storyline I guess. Unless they're going to do something more with it it's a bit "what's the point"? But I do wonder if these short storylines is a symptom of not knowing if the show is renewed or not.

Spoiler

I watched the episode where Charlie was shot and I watched Jan come out her coma, and I thought the whole thing was telegraphed to be too obvious for even the most casual watcher.

However, some questions remain:

  1. Will Jan's agreement with Belle come into play, or will the prosecution have to create a motive for the jury without the benefit of acknowledging that Jan had kidnapped Belle?
    1. Of course, that assumes there will be a jury trail which probably won't happen because
      1. People in Salem usually go immediately to jail without a trial
      2. COVID restrictions would make it impossible to film a trial
  2. Does Jan have amnesia because why would she point out that Belle was missing a button?
  3. Even in her distinctive coat how did Sami and John mistake Jan for Belle?
    1. First, unless Belle has owned that coat for years, how would Sami know she owned a red coat?
    2. Second, Jan is brunette so, wouldn't John recognize his own daughter from behind, especially if she had the wrong hair?

There’s been another mass shooting, this time at a Long Island grocery store, so the NYC area is seeing preemptions.

God, I despise NBC so much. It's really like they want Days to be cancelled or something

But Y&R hasn't been preempted on CBS

As I was about to post, CBS2 just broke into Y&R for a police news conference.

I figure if the Chauvin verdict happens this afternoon, we’ll see a lot of preemptions.

I know. I just edited my first post lol

I know all this is important, but goddamn. You don't need to constantly interrupt regular programming, especially in the case of NBC, that already owns their own 24 hour news network

NBC should do like ABC and CBS and just reschedule when Breaking News happens, instead of telling people to watch online.   I think that hurts the ratings worse when they do that.

I think it's a good move, frame Belle (hopefully they have her wear a blonde wig).  Jan is crazy so it kinda makes sense for her.  But I think they should have went to John being the killer or maybe Ava.

Thank goodness it's being preempted.

How dare you sir. Those cheap sets are a sight to behold. Don't you want to see Kayla's ugly curtains? Or that shabby room at the Salem Inn?

Cozi TV would air it When Days was preempted. But they stopped doing that awhile ago.

It recalls when Marlena's possession story was interrupted for the OJ trial.  Even though research suggests that the average viewer only tunes into a soap twice a week, it destroys the momentum.  That being said, I saw that NBC promoted the fact that yesterday's episode was available online last night on twitter.  Given the fact that all episodes are posted online it seems to negate the need to reschedule the airings.
