You're so right! Back in his younger days, Wes Ramsey was genuinely appealing as Sam on GL. It's actually a skill to play a rootable "nice guy"; Josh Swickard (Chase) does it well, but very few of the other younger male actors on GH have been able to project that kind of warmth and personality. That's Wes Ramsey's skill set, and I agree that he could have pulled off a sensitive nice guy character like Lucky really well. But he's completely wrong for Peter, just like the guy who plays Cyrus is completely wrong for that part. It's frustrating, because GH has a lot of the elements to be a great soap, but then someone (maybe Frank Valenti) keeps making these mind-bogglingly bad decisions.

That said...if it took this long for this moment of getting it reversed, I honestly believe given the changes in writers it HAS to be Frank who had it drag out this long. At least the current writers are 1) reversing it because NO ONE liked that bad rewrite though we loved Anna and Faison as ENEMIES and 2) using the reversal for (hopefully) maximum impact.

However there is no way to keep Peter on the canvas after this...especially once Jason finds out...without some redemptive arc or comeuppance. Or comeuppance with a redemption. If not, EVERYONE will cry foul...no matter how Frank or the writers want to see it. They better go old school and have Peter pay, suffer, go to prison, off the screen for a month to 3 months minimum/maximum and then start finding an organic non-tumor way to redeem him IF he must be kept around.

I will always love him as Wyatt on CHARMED, but honestly over his character now. It's time for him to bounce.

Yes to most of this. All of you calling this more drama — that drama was created by Tristan Rogers, who stepped completely over the line in his criticism.

Instead, Wes Ramsey gets knocked for a long response? GMAFB. Imagine how much it hurts to be bashed like that, knowing Soap Twitter already hates you — and now your other cast members get to see it up close, too?

I never defended WR before this, but I’ll defend him now, and I feel sorry for him. TR is a good guy, but he screwed up. This is on him, and no, it’s not ok because he was “honest.” Screw honesty when it hurts others and does moth to make anything better. TR solved nothing.

The number of people using this mess to go after Wes Ramsey even harder is disturbing and disgusting. They hate the character, but that’s bled into hating the actor. It’s appalling, and it’s sad.

if you can’t see, after reading his IG,  how all this has affected Ramsey, I feel sorry for you. It’s all one big example of how terrible social media can be.

I feel bad for Wes because he’s being set up to embarrass himself on national TV, when the writers/producers of GH should have ended this a LONG time ago.

I can't help but wonder if that really was the intention (Alex turning out to be Peter's mother) from the beginning, or if it was rewritten only because Anna being the mother was so unpopular with fans.  The show under Frank has had a history of tying pet characters and pet actors to popular characters and actors in order to prop them.

It's a backstage mystery lol

Is Frank's interference responsible for this mess of a storyline? Or is Chris Van Etten just a lousy writer? I wonder what Shelly Altman played in this as well, if she did at all.

Is this actually happening? I hope they let us linger and luxuriate in Maxie’s despair for being such a fûcking idiot...

All of that.

I do feel that it being unpopular is part of why it got rewritten. But I do feel like Frank was stalling it out IMHO. I mean even I knew over the years how unpopular it was since I stopped watching regularly during that period.

Despite everything, I have to admit today's episode was really good. Yeah, Wes' acting needs work and Finn was being too whiny and dramatic with Anna, but overall I enjoyed it.

Looking forward to tomorrow, not only for the Peter stuff, but the Carly/Nina scenes too

Definitely. He's gotta be desperate to keep WR on, I just have no idea how they're going to do it.

WR was the weak link, even if he wasn’t as godawful as he was yesterday. Everyone else was on point, especially Finola but including Kirsten Storms.

It did feel like a good classic soapy takedown (at a wedding!), but certainly not worth what we went through to get there.

If he does it the way that I said a few post back...and most importantly WRITE IT WELL aka no propping...the audience might warm up to it, but it has to be long and organic.

Yay for Carly vs Nina.

Agreed.

Even if everything had been completely perfect, it still wouldn't have been worth it. I imagine it would been a lot better had this all come out in like 2019 or something.

That's really the only thing that could possibly work. A long arc were no character is sacrificed. Luckily, the current regime loves to drag stuff out lol

    • I loved today's episode....shocker LOL Dani & Andre were so cute and adorable. Vernon trying to cover his tracks with Anita, while holding his own with Leslie. And the pièce de résistance, Eva & Kat. Soooooo goood!!!
    • According to the newspaper columnists at the time of Mark Dante's return, Gerald Gordon had been a favorite of Fred Silverman, who left ABC for NBC and took Gordon with him. Silverman supposedly put him on a contract with NBC. Gordon return to "General Hospital" occurred after Silverman left NBC so Gordon may have been in need of work and he may have left Monty on good terms. His pairing seems very C-story at best based on synopses but maybe there was more to it.
    • I am truly at a loss for words about today's episode. I have no clue what they are trying to do or where this Luna story is going. I was literally dumbfounded.
    • I'm inclined to agree with you and I loved her at Santa Barbara.
    • I haven't watched DAYS in years, so I have some questions for anyone who can answer them. Is the show actually acknowledging that Jeremy abused Stephanie?  The things he did to her back in 2007 were reprehensible.  I wasn't watching too much when that was happening, but I seem to remember that the show (at the time) didn't outright label him an abusive partner and instead acted like he was just badly behaved or something like that.  Could someone who was watching back then tell me how they remember it?
    • It also strangely happened while the story was airing. You had a gothic and spooky story that because it got eyeballs ended up being dragged out and turned into camp. Marlena starts talking to herself constantly with that voice, she’s strapped to the bed for a never ending exorcism, would almost die multiple times during the process, and then everyone would just leave her there with Caroline Brady sitting next to her holding a rosary. Reilly had the show so segregated that when Carrie found out what was happening in practically her next scene she was like I’m praying for Marlena. Now what are we going to do about Sami? I don’t know about anyone else, but I would probably stop my storyline for at least a couple of episodes and have to go see my stepmother that had a huge part in raising me floating around with those eyes in her beautiful penthouse. It was just so stupid, and when it started I didn’t necessarily agree with the story being told, but at least it was taken seriously.
    • Yes, I feel the same way. I get the reasoning behind hiring him. He was playing a very similar character on RH, and they were in a pinch. I also found his accent very distracting. But then, Bev also didn't sound like she was from Illinois, and it didn't bother me a bit. That said, I've always had a great deal of sympathy for the situation he was in. It's never easy to take over from someone popular with fans, and how the TPTB were always insisting he was coming back eventually was another issue. Hearing he was going through it in his personal life on top of that makes me even more sympathetic. I found the article where it mentioned he had worked on both soaps at the same time. This was written a while after he left the show. Interesting that he was open to returning and that fans were asking him about when Alan was going to get out of jail. To this day, I don't understand why they kept Alan off the canvas as long as they did. He should have been there in the thick of Roger's return (without the dumb attempt to kill him), especially while he was married to Alex. To me, Raines was lacking in a lot of qualities needed for Alan. I think he would have been a better Mike Bauer.  They took five years to bring Alan back. They could have found someone better. No one is irreplaceable. Anyone who took over the role would have been different from Bernau. But somewhere out there was an actor who would have had the suaveness, intensity, and charm that IMO the character needed.

    • I did feel like JFP's Y&R was decent. Of all the recent HW/EP swaps, her period was very safe but watchable. Nothing spectacular but better than what we have now.
