So is Sarah Locke a battered wife? Because the actress literally plays every scene no matter who is in it like she’s terrified for her life.

I don’t feel like she loves Rey at all. Between the writing and acting, they should’ve just annulled their marriage.

That's how she plays it and I can't tell if it's intentional or bad acting lol. It could have worked to have him play a charming man and then slowly reveal his nature.

My biggest advice to JG would be: SHOW, DON'T TELL. He spent months having characters tell us this guy was Ruthless and sooooo scary. It's lazy writing. It's supposed to give him insta-vet status so we understand that he's Victor level because we were TOLD. Why not portray some nuances and let us decide for ourselves?

So let me get this straight, not a single character is going to mention the age difference between Sally and Jack? They all just hate Sally and that’s their only issue with it?

This is so unrealistic. Are they trying not to hurt Bergman’s feelings or something?

That's the elephant in the room between Jack & Sally. As I said on Twitter yesterday Sally was a kid when Shemar Moore was hosting Soul Train. While Jack was a grown man when Soul Train premiered with Don Cornelius as the host.

Exactly.   How could it NOT be mentioned?   I was in the "vault" last night watching an episode from 1981 in which Kay Chancellor (age 53) was planning to marry Jerry Cashman (age 33).  She told Liz Foster, "He makes me HAPPY!"  Liz said, "Don't you think you could be happy with someone a little closer to your own age, Mrs. Chancellor?!"    But we're supposed to pretend not to notice that Jack Abbott is social security aged, and his little friend ain't.

It's such a bizarre relationship in general. The whole relationship is them sitting in the coffee shop talking about something they just did and how cool it was.  They went ice skating, bought a car... oh, and once they opened the scene with lipstick on him so they must have kissed! Then she brought him a wrinkly sample shirt yesterday and he was excited, like he's not a millionaire executive....

“It’s embryo transplant day” is not a good way to start a soap episode. Sorry not interested.

It would be wonderful if someone challenged Jack.  He can tell them that men of his means can date a young hottie. That would shut up Phyllis at least for a minute.

is Rey dying? The last episode I watched he didn’t feel good and now he’s in the hospital.

    • Hahaha!!! Not Naomi being sure Chelesa ain't filming this time!!!   At last! Kat is proven right!!!   And hey, Nicole's Doctor friend, hey!!!   So far...this is giving.
    • Leslie having the nerve to show up at the Dupree House was pure insanity. Bill being revealed to be more ruthless than anyone would have thought was a good development. I have to imagine that will change Dani's view of wanting him back. The whole reveal was well done and Trisha Mann-Grant owned those scenes. That was most definitely material for an Emmy submission reel.
    • I agree, all the Guys Tux were nice. I like how they differ from each other and all stylish in a way. Awe, same. Can not believe I actually have enjoying a current daytime soap. Rewatching these episodes over the weekend as a jump back into Ryan's Hope and Santa Barbara. Agreed! Exciting times.

And it was pretty dope we didn't know that tidbit before the reveal.
    • yes I thought of the Renee party... But this is different because I'm talking specifically about the revealer convincing someone else to throw the party.  And the someone else complies, having no idea what the revealer plans. I'm wondering if Michele Val Jean did a first with BTG in 2025. But the BTG thread is already so busy -- that I thought it important to *NOT* clog it up with discussing this, so I brought the question here instead. That way, if other reveals come up in conversation, it's not a problem on this "general retro soap" thread.
    • Well, good that they showed Vanessa though I wish she was there.   Lol. And here comes Naomi. AND an explanation from Jacob.

She is diabolical! Remember in this scene she offered Martin a brownie which seemed so random? In this episode its revealed that when he was a kid, Ted used to bring him to a restaurant where the waitress would give him brownies....that waitress was Leslie. She was playing games and trying to jog his childhood memory
    • Yay!!!!!! And made it ON TIME, TOO!!!   And this is giving DAYS reveals circa late 90s already.
    • Bish what? I was not expecting that, I was for sure expecting him to go after Nicole (He still can). Looks like Leslie put her out! I love these new developments, Eva Dorian Lording her way into Fairmont Crest. My good sis better trap that doctor.
    • It should be in its synopsis on the DVR description of the show.
