She's very viable and this run proves it. I hope there's more to this. I'm not sure if it's confirmed 100% or not. But Gwen and Laura's confrontation is supposed to end tragically. Could mean a lot of things but there's also a fight at the cemetery I believe between Abby and Gwen ..... read into it all what you will.

I just don't trust Ron on this. [!@#$%^&*].

yeah. Ironic how he brings so many back from the dead but then offs others like it's nothing.

Exactly, he's going for 'shock value'.

Of course like you said, dead doesn't mean dead on DAYS, so I do have hope there's more to it than meets the eye but who knows?

This return proved Laura should be in town more often, not dead. If they kill her off I’m going to be furious. Not only for Laura, but once again it would be taking a villain too far. I don’t want to see Gwen kill a beloved vet them have to deal with them telling us it doesn’t matter when they want to keep her around.

Days also killed off another veteran character, Bill Horton, for literally no reason whatsoever. Can anyone come up with the point of that? There were no ramifications and no story to came out of it. Does Laura even know that her once-beloved husband and the father of her children is dead?

I know TPTB killed off David Banning in order to facilitate the story of Julie's gaining a new grandson, but that axing of a beloved Horton was egregious and unnecessary too.

Now (potentially) Laura Horton?

Ron Carlivati would bring back Penny Hughes to ATWT just to reveal her as a transvestite serial killer and kill her off.

Ron writes low-brow camp and relies on pedestrian shock value. He is a terrible writer. He needs to go.

@vetsoapfanBill’s death was pointless when you consider how long he’d been gone. You didn’t even have the pay off of him returning for a stint and there being an actual story with it.

When it comes to David I feel that is because they only wanted to use Valerie as a token. Had he been brought back you would have to address their history. I will never understand the story benefit here. He’d been gone for ages so they have a blank canvas. Such a waste!

I can't blame them for killing off Bill to be honest. All his portrayers were dead bar the random John H Martin recast and well... I sort of get it. Tommy Horton should've gotten a send-off too.

David? Yeah, that was a story driver I guess, but as has been said, it was almost exclusively done to use Rhonda Blair from Melrose Place as a token. David, being Julie's son, sort of a new matriarch on the show, could've been useful and certainly enough time had passed for a recast with a fuzzy age around 40/50-something.

Laura... they have an actress that's played the part for 25 years and seems willing to appear at times. Waste.

JLB's version of Laura is like a different character from the 60s/70s version(s), but I still like her and like the idea of Laura still being around.  I've hated most of Ron's writing but this might be the worst for me.  Especially since it's going to be done to prop a useless character.  I doubt we'll get much reaction from the town.  Mike probably won't even be mentioned.

    • As much as I love JJ and Lucky I don't think he should be able to make that call. I don't really think I needed to hear Eden McCoy sing some weird auto tuned ballad with Trina today instead. Carly's shake it off speech to Lulu was funny.  "JOSS is singing!!" Get your priorities straight Lesley Lu lol
    • There were two actors who played Wally. I wonder which one it was. TBH, from what I remember of the storyline and the character, either could have done this. It was a thankless role. Devon couldn't stand sleeping with him, so she would fantasize about making love to bad-boy Sean while they were doing it. Then he'd be all, "WOW, that was GREAT! Whatever you were thinking, keep doing it!" That had to shred any actor's ego, LOL. The second Wally was paired with Betsy Kennicott for a while. If you thought Devon and Wally were dull, that's nothing compared to Betsy and Wally.
    • I appreciate the clarity. May I presume that indicates you shared my confusion?
    • I confirmed with the show today that Bo's Hospital Room is in Salem, so they were all in Salem today.
    • Alex Neil also showed up at Search for Tomorrow after Texas. I think she was on in 1984 in the storyline involving Sunny's rape.
    • I only watched from 2001- onward Live. I will see what early years I can find on the web. Thanks again.
    • I wonder what went on there. Liz has been at a number of Nurses Balls even in the Valentini years, although I don't remember if she was at the last one. You'd think Lucky singing would be a no-brainer, and he has sung once or twice since his return. Maybe Jonathan didn't want to be involved in all that lengthy taping.
    •   I think one of the things that Nicole loved about Ted was that he was commanding but only in a kind way, like her father Vernon.   We the viewers saw another side of him when he gave Leslie the 50 grand to leave town.  Maurice's Ted could get angry, but Ted was never scary.  I don't think Nicole would have married a scary person, even if the scariness was hidden. I appreciate the nuTed trying to reason with crazy Leslie -- obviously it's pointless to try to reason with a sociopath, but he thinks he can.  Or he thinks mild threats would work. In my view, Leslie is scary, and Ted is not, and that contrast is supposed to be there. Bill has done scary things, but not Ted.
    • This is the worst May sleeps in years and going head to head with May 2021. Has anything actually happened on this show at all?  I can see why Alison Lainier bailed on this kingdom of boredom. You can tell JG is now even struggling with his new pet Claire. Where and when does all of this pointless misery come to an end?
    • “I really liked the Anita/Tracy scenes today.  Both powerful actresses.   They made me *want* to know what the secret is.“ so do i! just hope the reveal doesn’t drag on as long as martin’s — which, however bad, promises to be anti-climatic!
