I may be jinxing it, but GH may have the makings of a potentially decent new Black cast with Brook Kerr as Portia and the girl who plays Trina. Both seem pretty good, Trina is cute with Cameron and I suspect the head of that family unit, Taggert, is not dead after all. I don't care about Jordan and poor Curtis hasn't ever had a worthwhile story. Do I expect GH to do anything good with two talented new actors of color, absolutely not, but they're still worth noting for praise.

Glad to see all the Linsday love! I've always been a fan of hers since day 1 on Passions.  She just brings energy to her scenes and I know sometimes it can bee too much for some people, but I don't mind her hysterics (the fast talking and hand gestures).    If/when Kelly comes back, I would love to see Lindsay in another role.  "It's fate, Mama."

I’ve been really impressed with the show since they came back. Whenever I tune in I’m always in awe of the size and variety of their sets. No soap comes close to them in that regard. They’ve been able to keep the pace up since the sets are large enough to give them adequate movement even while social distancing.

I also agree that Lindsay Hartley is doing amazing work. This is a seamless temp recast. She came in and instantly seemed to understand the character and relationships and she has such a warmth and passion to her portrayal. I’m definitely not looking forward to the sluggish KeMo returning.

Also, am I right in thinking Nelle is Nina’s daughter? The hatred developing in their scenes seems ripe for that. It’s a shame Cynthia Wartros is so bad in the role though.

I don't agree that CW is bad in the role at all. She's not a cartoon but I greatly prefer her more grounded version to whatever MS was doing. She doesn't have chem with Ingo but given Ingo's recent comments I am perfectly fine with Jax just disappearing. She works well with CL, KS, LH, the Sasha girl, etc.

I hated Michelle Stafford as Nina so I may just not like the character if I’m being honest. I just can’t connect with her. It’s a shame they killed off Donna Mills character because I did enjoy Nina more when she was around.

I absolutely despise the entire Cyrus Renault storyline. The guy does not seem dangerous enough and he’s not believable as an horrific killer, either. I don’t care about anyone he’s dealing with, including Jordan. If she dies, she dies.

It’s also tiresome with Nelle calling the shots over all these people who hate her, and I do not want to see even more scenes of Sonny at his dying father’s bedside. Kill me now.

I have to say, I do not hate the ELQ story. It is pulling in characters all over the canvas, both newbies and vets, and they are doing a decent job using history (like Lucy having the tiebreaking vote because of her divorce from Alan). Tracy is very much needed her though. Ned and Michael being the only Quartermaines in these scenes is a little lame.

I remain very confused by Frank's choices though. It feels like there are a lot of actors on this show that are recurring but have more to do on the show and are in more stories than contract castmembers.

The story that is still not working for me is anything involving Peter. Anna looks STUPID. Maxie possibly being pregnant is atrocious. It feels like Anma only shares scenes with Finn, Peter and now Robert and all of her conversations are about Peter.

I also think LH is doing a great job as Sam. She has ENERGY something this show desperately needs as it's often quite lethargic (though I think Y&R now has them beat in that department)

I don't hate the ELQ story either. My only criticism is that it's been done before. Seriously, how many times is someone going to try to take over this company? And btw, it did seem out of character for Ned to throw Brook Lynn out of the house today.

I'm still liking LH in the role of Sam, but I still find her storyline to be a little stupid. She's sacrificed her children's futures just to be with Jason when she could have just waited and everything would have been alright. Does she actually expect Valentin to keep his word? It seems that Sam has gone to the Carly Corinthos school for mothers who pick their man over their kids.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
