Colin was battling cancer, which is more than likely why he succumbed to Covid.

He also had Parkinson's, but that will get lost in the narrative, where the vaccine resistant are concerned.

The Caribbean and Jamaica, in particular (where Powell's family line is from) has some of the lowest vaccination rates in the Western Hemisphere. There are, unfortunately, deep pockets of vaccine resistant people and misinformation circulating through What's App (a social network which I despise) makes it worse.

I have already gotten calls and had to chide relatives who now believe that vaccines don't work. And these are fully vaccinated people. We can't dismiss what impact this could have, especially with the misinformation networks working more effectively than official organizations like the CDC and WHO, that, on occasion have transmitted muddled and confusing messaging.

Remember, this is a virus that started among the wealthy and well-traveled and spread to the lower-income and poor with less consideration about education and mitigation.

It is also a virus that will never truly get under control until a large enough percentage of the worldwide population gets fully vaccinated. And we're nowhere near that marker.

The media  has gone wild reinforcing to people that he died of COVID  even with the vaccine (John Roberts giddily pointed out that this will  make  people more resistant  to vaccines), so you're right, this will have a very bad impact.

People are pushing back, so there's that, at least. Hopefully, there will be more media that will now offer context to this news, now that they have been and are still being roundly criticized.

Beautiful picture of cinematographer (DP - Director of Photography)
Halyna Hutchins, as tweeted by Ava DuVernay.

Hutchins started in journalism and transitioned into film.

Imagine, the possibilities of escaping potentially dangerous situations and then dying on the set of a movie.

So sad and preventable.

Just saw the news. Really like him on Bosom Buddies and Newheart.#RIP

For younger Gen Xers and older Millennials, Bosom Buddies and Newhart were a lot of our childhoods. Newhart in particular has come up a lot in my conversations lately. So sad.

Geez, Peter Scolari?! Oh, how sad. RIP.

I shocked myself by bursting into tears.  Loved him in everything I saw him in, but I have a very nostalgic fondness for Bosom Buddies especially.
