I like LW.  I think she's a perfect soap actress honestly.  She's a very loyal team player, pretty enough, and does her job.  I just need her away from MB.  She can interact with so much of the cast.  Sonny can just like mumble at pictures of Brenda and I'd be fine.  His character has outlived his usefulness for sure.  And this is from a girl who thought Sonny was the greatest in 1995.

I unfortunately started watching GH well into Maurice no longer remembering his lines. I’ve seen maybe one episode or so from the 90’s and it’s like night and day. And they continue to reward him for it.

First of all, barf to the entire week.

Second of all ... I had heard that GH supposedly could not do any repeats before 2013.

But now they are making an exception for this horrid couple?  Barf again.

That's a shame.  MB seems like a nice enough guy but he was great in the 90's   No stammering, no awkward pauses.  It's night and day.  I think he started coasting in 2003, 2004?   I never saw him as a full on leading man.  A lead in his own stories?  Absolutely.   But never an entire shows leading man.

Where did this info about pre-2013 stuff?  Is it from Carolyn Hinsey comments about music rights?  That only makes sense for episodes with music in them (i.e. early Nurse's Ball stuff).  Not every episode at music with rights they need to worry about, case in point they had had those collections with earlier episode (including when they did the Sonny/Carly collection on ABC.com with episodes from Sarah Brown/Tamara Braun included.

Not only is his acting poor but the propping up of a murdering mobster and his hitman, is just ridiculous. I watched the show for at least a decade or more before I had to throw in the towel. I couldn’t handle it anymore. I was always a bigger fan of Sonny’s enemies most of the time, especially Faith and Claudia.

Yeah it was about the music, but I thought she was talking about background music and not musical numbers. Maybe I misunderstood.

Speaking of "collections", I remember they posted online for a limited period in early 2019, a sixteen-episode set called "best of nurses ball 2014-2018".  So I think that's what they are drawing from for airdates May 25 - June 12.  Already packaged, easy to put on air now. I think I saw some recently released clips with the logo "best of the nurses ball".

You mentioned they had a Sonny/Carly collection a while back.  I bet they'll just draw from that for these episodes.  No extra work for the GH staff.

I agree exactly with your sentiments on LW. I also love that she loves soaps and that she enjoys what she does. There's some actors who show up and it's a paycheck and they have no love or interest for the genre and are hoping to get paid and hopefully land something big (and that's absolutely okay, many do their job and do it well but their love ends there.)

Same here. It made it difficult to enjoy the character. There are some actors on GH who know how to work around his difficulties and make it work, but when MB is paired with a newbie or someone who doesn't, his lack is severely highlighted and it makes the scenes unbearable at times.

I am confused how Soapnet got everything for the 50th and we can't go back past 2013 now?

LOVED Faith and Alcazar.  Awesome.  Sonny carved out a decent niche with Brenda and even with SJB's Carly.  It just isn't a character you build a soap on.  He's far more interesting than Jason IMO, but he's so far removed from what GH should be built on.

It's clear MB likes certain actresses.  I always feel like he tolerates LW because he has nothing better to do.  She always brings the energy in the scenes.

I also really enjoyed Alcazar, especially with Skye until if I’m remembering correctly, she actually let Sonny and Jason kill him.

And I’ve never seen an ounce of chemistry between LW and MB. Like you said it feels like he’s tolerating her while Laura is desperately trying to make something happen in their scenes even though she often comes across as shrill.

Ted King was so hot and sexy so of course they fired him..

I think MB and LW have okay friend chemistry.  They seem fine as co-parents.  There is 0 sexual heat.

Laura 100% overcompensates for him   She does her job.  Not sure what Maurice is waiting for on this.  A new love interest?  Someone to put his cue cards directly in front of him?  I think he either wants a brand new love interest or for Vanessa to come back, neither seem likely.

I am 100% sure the best of JaSam is next.  That's probably worse to me than the Carson episodes.  We get to watch SBu and KeMo eat Chinese food and drink tequila 5 days in a row lol.

    • I honestly don't care if Laura is friends with Sonny.  She's been friends with him for decades.  The way she goes about the friendship is stupid.   She has no sense of self-preservation or awareness about the optics of parading her friendship with Sonny around town.  She practically celebrates it.  There's no reason in the world she can't just keep the friendship low key and explain they share a grandchild and frame the relationship that way.  A lot of Laura's choices, like getting into a public fight with Dalton, just make her look silly and like a fairly incompetent mayor. Carly is another PC lady that's starting to look silly.  I know she's explained her plan a lot, but it's still stupid and moving at a glacial pace.  If Joss is 45 by the time her revenge plot unfolds, what's the point?  Just dump Brennen and move on please.
    • On that same note, it's astounding to have mobster Sonny in the same office with Mayor Laura chatting it up about their mutual grandson. Think about the reaction if John Gotti and Mayor Eric Adams had a friendship

?? I guess the Logic behind Sonny & Jason acceptance is like when i saw a documentary where FBI agents said they'd rather deal with the mafia than terrorists or cartels---they're the "lesser of 3 evils". Anyway I'm about 30 years late on this convo.
    • Im confused. Does Jessica know anything about June's relation to Tyrell? At the start of the episode, it seemed like June was gonna slip that he was her son but she caught herself but later in the episode she referred to him as "my boy" and Jessica had no reaction like that wasnt a surprise to her No, Anita was putting money in the account every 6 months but we werent told how much was in it when Leslie became a beneficiary. The show has set it up that it was multiplying based off the interest so that its really worth quite alot now. I dont buy it but thats what they've told us
    • What was the point in Lori's return as Mrs. Max Hollister? That little story never made much sense to me.  Were there plans for a permanent return? Or even a new family with her as the matriarch?
    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.
