While everyone was talking on and on about the "Corona Babies" that would supposedly be conceived, I was thinking about all the marriage that might be headed for divorce (and worse) because people could be trapped in a confined space with one another, including those trapped in abusive relationships.

Between this horrible story and the unfortunate prisoner who should've been released from prison already, and the homeless people sleeping in a parking lot while practicing 'social distance', this crisis really has become a 'black light' showing up all the stains of society's various ills.

Let me tell you my experience: everyone should be provided with masks. Everyone should wear them.

A couple of weeks ago, I learned my boss tested positive. I found myself at risk of having contracted the virus. I was self-quarantining before the lockdown was even in place. Then I was forced to leave my apartment. There was no other solution, I had to leave my apartment for 2 hours. I needed a mask, but I had no masks. Because every expert had said "Leave the masks to the infected and the health workers".

I don't understand why it should be my fault that no one thought of amping up face masks production when they knew an epidemic/pandemic was on its way (the WHO warned the most at risk countries in January). Anyway, as soon as they produce more face masks, everyone will be/should be provided with a package of face masks.

I can't even imagine what certain segments of society are going through. LGBT kids trapped with homophobic parents. Young workers trapped with dangerous flatmates (1 year ago, my flatmate became my stalker... thank God I moved out but it wasn't easy). Quarantine can be a nightmare for many people, my heart goes out to them.

The picture with the homeless sleeping in a parking lot was shocking. It reminded me of an article I read a couple of years ago by a person who works for a charity that gives out food and clothes to the homeless. Some of them see the streets as their home and they just won't take shelter anywhere else, because of even worse experiences and distrust (hence authorities should make more of an effort to deserve their trust). That's just another perspective.

One of the things that I most hold against former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg (besides Stop and Frisk) is the fact that he promised to address this need but never did. He was supposed to oversee the construction of more affordable housing for families as well as Single Rooming Options (studio apartments), particularly for homeless men (many of whom were veterans, some with substance abuse and mental health issues that often kept them in a cycle of homelessness and hopelessness. Even as the homeless problem became a full-blown crisis, not seen since the Reagan years, Bloomberg did nothing to alleviate this.  In fact, more luxury buildings and apartments were built under his watch than any other NYC municipal government in memory.  One of the reasons why I'm glad he got so little support that he eventually dropped out of the presidential race.

As much as I've come to dislike DeBlasio and his rigid leftist doctrine (which didn't seem as thoroughly ground in when he first got into office but is now), DeBlasio inherited an intractable homeless crisis that has proven extremely difficult to burrow out of. At the very least DeBlasio put an end to stop and frisk and set about trying to rectify some glaring criminal justice matters that had been festering during the Bloomberg administration.

Since we could use all the good news we can get.

    • Me saying all the praise for Eva/Ambyr. Y'all..

    • Yeah, something is not right here. I will continue to have doubts about Leslie being Eva's mother for the time being. Until at least the writing/behavior of her character changes. She is acting way too cold/uncaring/hateful to be her mother. I know as soap fans, we have seen our share of rough around the edges, bad acting mothers. But even some of the roughest of soap mothers have acted like they love their children. Even if they don't always make the best decisions regarding them. Or are often at odds with them. Leslie has not shown anything for me to show that she even cares about Eva, even a little. It's all about what Leslie/wants needs and what Eva can do for her. As soon as she felt like Eva no longer served a purpose for her she threw her away. I am interested in seeing what happens with Leslie going forward. She really doesn't have anyone on her side. Eva at least now has Ted and Tomas to a lesser degree. I think that some others will eventually come to accept Eva in time.
    • I'm looking forward to seeing the first 18 minutes or so that we missed earlier this episode. But I loved what I saw today: I thought that what I saw of Bill's/Ted's interaction was realistic and interesting. I know we have hardly seen them interact, but I think that they have nice chemistry together. And Iiked the dialogue that they had about their roles/mistakes in this whole paternity reveal/hurting Nicole. I would like to see them interact more together in the future. I also enjoyed Dani being there for Nicole and giving her good advice. I did lol when Dani said she wanted to take off her earrings and be left alone with Leslie, Eva, Bill and Ted... I like Nicole as always acting mature and measured and trying to process what has happened to her along with support from her sister. I like that her family supported her and gave her space (including her parents) and then she went to them when she was ready. I enjoyed her scenes with her parents at the end. Speaking of parents, Leslie continues to act like this. Her behavior towards Eva is trash and she literally threw the picture of them together at the end in the trash. She really doesn't deserve Eva, and I continue to wonder if she really is her mother. She is just too cold towards her and sees her as a means to an end. I really wonder if she thought that Ted was going to help Eva. Or if she was hoping that he would turn her away as well. I'm glad he helped her and wants to try and have a relationship with her. It will cause conflict with the rest of the family, but it's the right thing for him to do, IMO.
    • What an interesting read @Paul Raven. Thank you so much for posting it. Annette
    • She’s riveting. And how she transitioned from utter devastation after the confrontation with Leslie to hopeful in the Ted scene—so seamless. She’s easily the most exciting actress I’ve seen in daytime in a looooooooong time. If she’s not the face of this show in a few months, they’re leaving money on the table.
    • Yeah either Leslie is a demented mother, or Leslie is not the real mother.
    • Ambyr is killing it per usual. The Eva and Leslie confrontation was GOOD. I gotta admit Ted taking in Eva and promising to do right by her made me cry.    See, he can still be a decent guy

    • Leslie threw Eva's photo in the kitchen garbage can.

She threw out that picture of Eva. Im convinced Eva is NOT her daughter. She has no maternal instinct. Thats Nicole's kid   awww Ted is getting her an apartment and he said he would never leave his daughter. I love it! I bet it will be better than that dump Leslie had her in and she better not open the door for her
