YR Casting

A job's a job yeah but this is classic Hollywood sexism. She should not be playing his mother.

Beyond that this family is a bust and they should cut their losses while they're ahead.

For me, Rey and Lola were the most boring Rosales family members so it's disappointing they're sticking around. As for this casting, I LOVE Eva La Rue, but she seems too young and I'm not sure how needed she is. It just amazes me they've brought on so many new people including vets which is obviously costly, but they let Mishael Morgan go who couldn't have wanted that big of a raise. Also with all these returns it only makes me want Victoria Rowell back more. If you can boost every other family, why not bring her in to head her family? Throw in Karla Mosley as Lily and that problem is also solved.

Lola's writing is just dreadful. And the actress feels so blah. I think she'd do better as a vixen or bitch, but they have this bizarre need to have her never be wrong. I'm so confused by the Kyle/Lola relationship because they write it like we're supposed to be rooting for them but at the same time, you can't really root for them because both are kind of unlikeable together. It's just weird writing all around. Kyle and Summer are clearly the better match, and I never ever thought I'd say that! lol. Lola's likely filling a plot purpose right now. I don't feel she's going to last as long as some think. JMO. But I have no idea, and especially now that they're adding a mother. (lol at how they know fans were annoyed at the quick presence of four Rosales, but they dump two and then add one ... um ... are they not getting it?). I'm almost kind of glad they don't have Fen or Noah wasting their time pining for Lola while she's with Kyle because you know that's all they'd do. (Honestly it's kind of blatant that she'd be a better match for Noah ... just sayin' ... Morrow can't play the fratboy forever no matter how much he or the show thinks he can, but he's also not believable as Victor Jr. so ... he only works well with Sharon Case, MTS and the actors who play his kids, he's very natural and believable as a father, but he leaves me cold with his portrayal, honestly; I swear I remember at one point way back in the day, actually liking Nick ... but in hindsight, Morrow's really always kind of been the same ...)

Lola isn't going anywhere. And I wouldn't be surprised if when Daddy Rosales comes and plays out a reunion, Mia and Rey return for drama with the newborn baby.  After the crap storm twitter gave Angelica yesterday over hiring another Rosales, this was her response. Lol

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
