I liked William Lipton's performance. I've pulled that same  "show nothing until I'm by myself and fall apart alone" on a few occasions over the years.

I want them to do more with William Lipton than have Cameron butting heads with Franco every time he's on. Eden McCoy seems to be Frank's favorite right now but I need a break from Josslyn. Give us more Cameron, and develop Trina a bit more if they're really trying to do a teen scene. I'm just hoping they don't instantly throw Joss and Cam together.

Eden's his new Kirsten Storms. Though Eden is a lot more tolerable. If only Starr stayed a bitch ... sigh.

 

They could do more with Cam. Sometimes they try other times he feels forgotten about. Trina has potential. But they're all sort of boring, to be quite honest ... lol.

 

There's very little "conflict" on the show, so to speak. I don't want the ugliness of Phelps back but even when things happen the show's often so lackluster ... I feel like they tiptoe around certain drama and play it safe at times, I felt that way with DAYS for a very long time and it was when I started tuning out and losing interest ... lol

Valentini is a terrible producer at translating and producing the material on-screen. It's always so cheap and tacky.

 

Say what you will about JFP, but she knew how to produce the hell out of the material when it mattered in key scenes/events.

True on all fronts! I hated a lot of Phelps trash but she could produce the hell out things when it mattered.

 

Frank's terrible. Phelps produced well but she was SO SO SO SO damaging. Frank's not damaging in the same way. He's just stupid and desperate for all of his pets to "take off" (when they aren't and he refuses to acknowledge it or take action but he does nothing to keep GH actors around ... yet he'll recast Jordan, Valerie, Nina, etc. ...). No reason it took all these years for Ingo to be back on contract. He repeatedly let Genie Francis go. He can sign Tamara Braun but where's Vanessa Marcil? (I know some hate her but that's not the point of my rant ... lol). He brings back Sean Kanan and Ian Buchanan only to dump them and Ron kills their characters again, in ways so they can't be resurrected. I guess he's more damaging than I realized, just in a less blatant way ... I feel like this post should have been in the "Worst Executive Producers" thread LOL!!

 

And not to mention all the vets working off-contract (though I imagine some prefer it that way, but I'm sure others would like more of a guarantee; he can't give them a low guarantee contract?)

On a related note, I don't get GH's obsession with bringing every Carly back to play a new role.  I like TB and she's probably my favorite Carly actually, but Kim is really a pointless character.  I thought they might try her with MB or even SBu, but she is stuck with Julian and Drew?  Boring....

Also, I am going to assume Vanessa turned GH down because Oscar being Brenda's son Alec literally is a story that writes itself. And the audience would at least be emotionally connected to one of the parents plus you could play the Sonny/Brenda/Jax/Carly angst in another way.

I actually thought Oscar's death day was decent.  I got a little teary and I thought Eden McCoy was very good.  I just imagine I would have cared a lot more if I gave a crap about Oscar.

Actually i heard that VM was asked back and we got Tams

But I also heard they wanted Tams to be Kate #2 in 2011 but she said no so they cast Kelly Sullivan

Oscar being Brenda's would have been better long term wise I gather

I figure VM was asked and said no because the way the story was going in the beginning you assumed Oscar's mother was someone we knew who was fairly important, not TB as a new character.

I don't know why the ditched Megan Ward as Kate to begin with, but I suspect I would have like TB better than KSu.  I really thought KSu was miscast and awful.  And I know this is unpopular but I think TB has by far the best chemistry with MB out of all the Carlys.

I doubt Vanessa was happy with the story. Heck on twitter she pretty much says the Dante stuff with Brenda and that kid of hers never happened. Denial is a river in egypt lol.

Did Brenda even mention Alec when she visited in 2013?

IIRC the word was Vanessa and Frank did not get along so he's fine with her staying gone. But with Frank very few things trump ratings, so you never know.

 

Eden McCoy is blonde and under 21 - that is all Frank cares about re: teens, finding a new pretty white teen couple to mimic his 'success' with Starr and Cole at OLTL. He's tried for years (and abandoned Hailey Pullos/Molly when the Rafe storyline flopped) and Joss and Oscar/Cam is the closest he's gotten. McCoy is mediocre at best, but because of who she is she's going to continue to be a major presence because Frank is obsessed with the youth demo and thinks this is the only way to obtain it. Which is so ignorant in 2019. I just feel bad William Lipton is getting dragged into this mess because he's way too talented for this crap.

Frank's production skills are akin to a low budget Disney sitcom. Just compare Oscar's death scene to Stone's and you'll see - clearly he was trying to go for the same approach, but doesn't have the same expertise and style of Wendy Riche or JFP to pull it off or come anywhere close. 

 

And can we please stop with teenagers in bad wigs and clothes playing ghostly versions of Edward and Lila? Cheap and tacky as hell.

She mentioned him when she was talking to Sonny at the airport but super briefly.  VM hates Brenda has a kid.  I kinda agree with that.  The kid is pretty useless unless they age him and bring him back to PC, but I am not sure I would care if he wasn't with Brenda. 

 

 

I am glad someone else thinks it's super tacky.  I hate it.  I was okay with it when John Ingle/Edward died, but fake Edward and Lila do not need to be trotted out to escort Oscar to heaven.  They never met him or Drew.  I would assume heaven Edward and Lila would have plenty of things to do in the afterlife considering their entire family is basically all dead.
