Best hair on soaps

In response to the wig thread, who do you think has consistently had great hair on daytime?

AMC- Erica Kane.  I think Lucci did a great job changing styles, but still seeming like Erica each time.  And the gradual lightening as she aged (although the woman looks fantastic still) was smartly done.

GH- Tracy Quartermaine. Jane Elliot has rocked short hair, updos, longer hair, many shades of red, brown, even almost blonde for a bit.  I love her with short hair, but her early 1990’s longer hair was also very flattering.  Her Deidre Hall performed dye jobs have looked pretty good in the last decade too.

DAYS-  Hope Brady.  She has a classic style and length for years that suits her, and has flattering dye jobs.  When she came back as Gina in the early 1990’s, I thought she and her hair were at their absolute best.

Y&R- Victoria Rowell had great hair as Drucilla.  Longer to short, it suited her character through the years.

GL- Alexandra as played by Beverlee.  I especially love her longer hair towards the end of her tenure to the short blunt bob of her last year.  It looked like money.

Funny I can’t think of a single guy that I think has a hairstyle worth noting.  Mac maybe on GH?  Seems like it’s still his and the grey is flattering.

Hair goddess, Deidre Hall...

1996's long locks (extensions) are a personal favorite era....

Lol!  I personally think DH has had horrible hair most of her Days run.  I only liked 1996 (I refuse to believe they are extensions-and then she went and cut it all off!!!), 1998, and 2006.

Then the messy bob years.... I hate her look at her own wedding

until this....

And that was the last time Marlena had good hair.  Deidre Hall looked so gorgeous in 2006.

Vincent does have nice hair. It's harder to come up with examples for the men. But I also think that Shemar Moore before he shaved his head bald, had nice hair. I also think that Robert Scott Wilson has a nice head of hair. Michael Mealor's hair looks petty decent too.

Just to go OT for a sec, I guess Vincent is the latest soap actor to transition over to real estate.

I nominate Dennis Cole, aka Lance Prentiss, of Y&R.  He was an iconic hair model/actor.

He started a little cro magnum

Then he grew it out and feathered it

and finally its crowning glory

Obviously John McCook, aka the other Lance, also had an iconic hair helmet

But Dennis's hair was so memorable

Tom Ligon's (Lucas) hair improved a few years into the role and when he shaved the beard. Down towards his final months on the show (1982), he grew the beard back. He then shaved it again to do Loving (1983).

Deidre's hair looks alittle basic in this shot.

It appears she is now raiding Susan Flannery's closet for her wardrobe...

Kate Collins ('Natalie') had beautiful hair on AMC.
I  loved her super long hair in the '80s, and equally loved the "Princess Diana" cut she had 1990-1992.
Watching old episodes on YouTube, the only style I didn't care for was the ''transitional'' one (between the super long and short) she had in 1989/early 1990.
It made her look dowdy (which was difficult).

This really is the best hair.  I am totally not biased.

I coveted this hair when I was 14 and I am a blonde girl.  So pretty before she did whatever she did to her face.

Old soap stars don't die.  They just go to work for Keller Williams.

I liked her homecoming hair in 2011...

Oh yes, the late-December '96 chop-off was devastating and she had some hair-don'ts for months afterwards.  I loved her mid-90's hair around '93, '94, and '95.  I agree she got it together again around 2005-2006 with her longer locks again. I met her the first time in late 2006 when she was rockin' some goodass hair :)  lol

Yikes. Not a soap star, but Wyndham's hair reminds me of The Facts of Life's Blair during her worst hair era:

We’ve seen pixie cuts, but has a soap lady ever done the full Sinead buzz cut or bald (and not just for a cancer story)?

I feel like an academic discussion of hair on soaps would have to include a discussion of male perms.

The king of the perms - Luke

And his acolytes: Travis Sentell (SFT)

Roman got a perm when he started fighting crime (DAYS)

Even a young Tom Hughes was peer pressured into the trend
