It took Y&R so long to find a black actress who could inspire the audience after VR

They really didn't.

Any show that wastes the legendary DEBBI MORGAN isn't trying. At all.

Did any character/actor introduced during MAB’s era survive? I know Cane/DG was an LML creation, and Mariah/CG was from Altman/Passanante.

DM is an icon, but was given a horrible role - changing the name couldn't escape the inevitable mess. Even she couldn't salvage it. Like Maura as Diane, they should've created new characters for both actors. Interestingly they both got saddled with SN - who was the real problem during that era.

I’m still kind of shell shocked. I dunno the last time a soap death really effected me like this.

Right there with you.

Adult Adam was MAB.

Right. I know. I suppose he’ll be the “Break in case of Emergency” character the show has behind the glass. But still.

And he still won't do a thing for the ratings.

I'll give credit to JFP for seeing something special in Mishael Morgan and for keeping her on the show even when her initial story had "one arc wonder" written all over it. But it was Mishael's sheer charisma that made this role work, even when she and many others were let down by  terrible and sometimes deeply offensive writing.

No posts today. I'm assuming that means there was no meaningful follow up to Hilary's death?

Mal has pretty much decided for Adam to remain dead and have Nick take his place. Justin Hartley's career has taken off so I doubt he'll return to Y&R, and we all know the previous two actors won't be considered at all.

What I think will happen down the road is that Adam will be revealed as alive and living with Chelsea and Connor on the run.

I thought the dialogue-free opening montage with everyone individually learning about Hilary’s passing was good.

Does anyone else really dislike Shauna? I can't be the only one!

SN: Is Ravi just gone now?! That's so disappointing.

Shauna’s a bit annoying, but all the teens have been in recent memory. She can cry on cue, which is a plus.

This whole Hilary debacle has made her annoying qualities more obvious.
