He's not blond; he doesn't have a "hot" body; they claim his acting is bad; probably something that Freddie Smith has said in the past that they now hold over him. There's probably more but that's just off the top of my head.

Louise Sorel brought a lot of energy and dynamism to her scenes and it was clear that Ron could write for Vivian and for Kate. Louise might not have liked all of the material, but it was miles better than her return in 2009 - 2011. It was much better. I wish she did a little more but it was miles better. Not that there was anywhere to go but up from her last stint ... At least Vivian's alive! But who knows when we'll see her again?

A little rich coming from someone who isn't exactly unbiased when it comes to the Will/Paul/Sonny story. Don't you have such a high disdain for Paul? Pot, meet kettle. May 26, 20187 yr Member I go back and forth with Sonny, but the commentary about him is one of my favorite parts of this thread.

He can’t play tough and badass, he smirks or smiles through romantic scenes, he’s not hot — so making him a lead romantic character does not work.

May 26, 20187 yr Member That's why Will and Sonny are made for each other, I guess. When DAYS ends, in fact, they can go smirking and mugging into the sunset together. Edited May 26, 20187 yr by Khan
May 26, 20187 yr Member On a somewhat positive note: I'm glad Theresa's being written in-charatcer again. The story is a bit meh but at least I have a bitch I can love-to-hate again in her. Jen Lilley's been missed.

Apparently no one on set can keep these actors in line or stop them from ruining their scenes with smirking and smiling and mugging. Chandler is as guilty as Freddie in this regard. It's even more apparent when they're in scenes with Christopher Sean or Greg Rikaart, who DON'T do it and can stay in character. Massey and Smith are like Beavis & Butthead. They're like 10 year olds who laugh uproariously when someone says the word "hole."
May 26, 20187 yr Member I’ve never seen the giggling as Chandler or Freddie breaking character. I think they are trying to play the boyish delight a teenager might get around their crush, but the problem is they are 27 and 30 and therefore too old for that mess.
