LOL!! Reading about it at first glance gave me Love Boat/Hotel on an airplane vibes immediately.

I can’t imagine that being a daytime soap, just a prime time soap like Hotel.

I’m quite the song would’ve have made a good theme song, except Spelling probably would have had Dionne Warwick sing it instead

Not sure if this one was ever up before, but it's a pilot for The Heart of Juliet Jones.

(not to be unkind, but I'm not sure if the best was to sell the pilot was to start out with so many excessive closeups of "Pop").

Thanks. That reminds me, I don't know if I ever posted too much about Bill Gunn's arthouse public access soap Personal Problems in here vs. other threads.

Thanks very much for the tag. I think I saw a red flag when he said, "economic theoreticians". I mean why not say economic theorists if you simply must say that phrase in your pilot episode.

And here is a cell of the strip.

Looking it up, it was based on a very successful comic strip that lasted from 1953 all the way to the year 2000!

The close up of Pop was strange, but the worst choice was to not end the episode with the reaction from the show's namesake for the series' first cliffhanger. That's just bad soap opera.
