SAL STOWERS RETURNS TO "DAYS"...

Sal Stowers, who last aired as Lani Price in June, will be returning to "Days of Our Lives." No first airdate is yet available, but with Stowers featured in the 13,000th episode cast photo, look for her to be back by January at the latest.

I'm glad they brought her back!  I think there was a lot that could be done with the character.   They needed to build the Carver family and develop more of Abe and Lani's father/daughter relationship.  Furthermore, Lani should have been Rafe's new love interest and a couple could've been born from them.  There was potential there.  Another thing, the soap needs more diversity!  They have done a good job with the Hernandez family and Paul providing diversity, but there's still more to be done.  I really enjoyed her character and she is beautiful.  So I'm glad for her return and hope that the writers really start to delve into characters more.

I can't even talk as I've seen little of her work on DAYS (just her AMC work), but given that the show has some women who never seem to improve even after being shoved into the spotlight for eons, I can't be that upset if she comes back. I imagine they'll barely show her anyway.

Yeah, there's potential for the character, sure, but is DAYS going to utilize her? Like, really explore the relationship between her and Abe? The revelation that she's his daughter wasn't even half-assed because even half the effort wasn't put forth. It was such an afterthought.

She'll probably return with a chip on her shoulder, acting all goofy semi-psycho towards Shawn-D.

    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
    • Thanks @Franko  @slick jones You may be interested in the Elisabeth Shue mention. I have to laugh that they apparently didn't even know Teri Hatcher was on Capitol. I have scans somewhere of SPW talking with soap actors about Soapdish. Some, like Mary Stuart, were not happy. I never had a lot of interest in the movie myself.
    • I never had much of a problem with Brandon Claybon's performance as Martin. He has gotten much better though. While I enjoy his confrontational scenes, I must say his lighter, and carefree scenes from Thursday's episode are the ones that stood out most in the last 3 days (to me).   I agree with all of this!
    • I know that Secret Storm had moved back to the 4/3 PM timeslot in the final months on air, so it's possible that they were trying to employ new techniques/elements to lure the teen demographic.   If that episode was around November/December 1973, I do wonder if the owners (AHS) were still trying to shop the show to other networks still.. or if they had accepted that the show was going to officially go off the air in Feb 1974 at the time of this episode airing.
    • Jordan should have been killed or written out a decade ago.
