Today was, dare I say it, actually not terrible.  Tracy and the Q's getting ELQ gave all the feels, Lulu throwing shade at Rachel Berlin and the fight with Nik was pretty entertaining, Dr. Hammy Finn didn't annoy me, I actually liked Sam and Jason, when he asked "Who's gonna come?" to her impromptu "party" made me chuckle, and Laura and Kevin have potential, GF looked stunning.

I think Hayley Erin has improved quite a lot from where she started a year ago. (Unlike, say, Ryan Paevey for example.) I really care about Kiki, which I never thought was possible with KA in the role. Even if you think Hayley isn't great, I think we can all agree that we'd rather have her here than KA. Also, I am HERE for Kiki and Dillon. They had great chemistry and anything to get Kiki away from Morgan is good with me.

Laura and Kevin is such a fun idea! And with

I can't wait to see where this story goes.

It's insane and I'm horrified to be saying it, but for the first time in what must be many, many years Michael Easton is actually making an effort with a performance beyond his usual schtick. That performance is definitely tic'y and full of nervous energy and all sorts of weird stuff but it's still legitimately more interesting than half the cast, including Roger Howarth who usually has the flea market cornered on 'Quirky Guy.' He also has serious chemistry with Jane Elliot, and Finn seems like a character who's broad-minded enough to seriously consider a romantic relationship with the older woman. He could still be fired tomorrow and I wouldn't mind much, but he's more interesting than a lot of what I am currently watching. The minute they try to pair him with Laura Wright or KM, though - that's death. Won't work.

Kiki OTOH, that I still can't get behind.

    • Poor Philip. I appreciate how seriously his and Xander’s scenes were taken though. It felt like real drama and not like a big joke. You could actually feel Xander’s pain and anger. It adds another dynamic to the Kiriakis family storylines and I’m looking forward to the effects that this is going to have across the canvas. I can see them weaving Kate and Roman into this storyline as well. And it would be really nice if this somehow helped cause conflict for Stephanie/Alex too, especially because of what Alex did today. With any luck, Stephanie will be furious about it.  And I’m glad that Sarah has Maggie to confide in about her secret. I also liked seeing Steve and Shawn (and their matching jackets

) continue to be on the case. Kevin, revealing everything to them is another interesting turn in this storyline. Plus, it seems the writing has improved for Shawn as well.
    • TBF, I don't think we've seen her interact enough with the "have-nots" to know if she is or isn't. It's possible, but I don't think you can say that from her interactions with Eva and Silkpress.
    • You're right - though I did confuse his name with an actual actor who was on Dynasty.

    • "Might" is not "is". And I was talking about the specific case about her attitude to Eva.
    • But she can still be a priveliged elitist. She might have the same attitude to anyone from 'the wrong side of the tracks' whether they had an agenda or not. Nicole seems to be an outlier in her family. Her parents, kids and sister seem to think themselves above reproach.
    • Damian's clothes have definitely been a specific look -kinda reads 70's pimp to me . I guess it's a trend?? but it seems more suited to Holden. JR is 51  and I guess Damian is supposed to be a little younger but it looks a little odd on him in my book. But at least they're trying. The men's clothing has been bland/generic for years-either suits or basic casual stuff interchangeable  b/w them.
