Well alot of vierwers are enjoying it. Maybe its just not your and some other's cup of tea. The reason why the other soaps are so high as I mentioned before is because of sweeps stunts. Days and Passions also didn't air Monday and if they did they probably would have seen the huge numbers on that day too much like MLK day. Once these gimmicks that the ABC soaps are dishing it out end they wil fall right back and Days will find it self right in the mix between 3-6 place. Of course, I know you are gonna say that if they had good writing they would be higher but you know what they wouldn't. If this was about quality the ratings would look like this:

1. Y&R

2.) ATWT

3.) Days

4.) B&B

5.) OLTL

6.)GL

7.)GH

8.)Passions

9.)AMC

Yeah I know the ABCers will get on me about this but I try to watch all 9 soaps enough to know what is going on and IMO this is an accurate assesssment. The only way Days and Passions would keep up this month was if they had an a big event or explosion or something. The NBC soaps usually are consistent during Febraury Sweeps and don't do big events because they know the other soaps do and they will have to compete with that so they put all their big stuff into non-sweeps months. Yes sweeps are important but as long as Days and Passions are consistent in HH (and they did go up last week might I add) and the demos are strong (which they have been) NBC is happy. The Monday off I beleive hurt NBC but then again did the other soaps even count Monday? If they did then that is why Days is that far down because the other soaps had an extra day which happened to be a holiday and we all know how good the numbers are on those days usually (see MLK when Days got a 3.5 and Passions over a 2.0). They may not have gotten that high on that day but if they were both on they would have had good numbers just like everyone else. Plus, Days keeps having one day every week that kills them and this week was Thursday. That bugs me but as long as they stay around where they are they will be in good position for the next few months which sound great. I know mant of you agree that the ratings don't indicate quality, just as many of you disagree with that assertion. I mean they are just starting to count college students for God's sake and that alone shows that many groups of people that do watch soaps aren't being counted. I can't wait to see college students count because I know for a fact the huge fanbases both Days and Passions have and there will most definitely be a jump in the ratings for both. I have no doubt about it.

Ok end of rant-now I will just wait for the demo numbers and total viewers. I would like to know if the CBS and ABC soaps counted Monday though.

Oh I agree KR-it would be Days or ATWT for me but mosrt likely Days because ATWT has been boring of late. I simply put Y&R up there because they have such a big lead and no matter who bad or bland the writing is they always pull in a huge number. They do have a great cast though and that is no doubt why they get great numbers despite the bad writing the last few months. Maybe with a new writer that will improve. Nonetheless, I agree with you its just I don't want to be biased. I was just trying to be realistic while also basing my rankings on what I have seen on screen. Technically, Y&R would be 3rd with ATWT 2nd and Days 1st right now IMO but that will probably be challenged by so many  . Again, if it was about quality these numbers would not look like this.

I don't know which shows you watch but the majority of the soaps didn't have that high of ratings either, Guiding Light was lower, ATWT was tied with Days, OLTL was .1 higher, AMC .2 higher, and GH .3 higher. That is nothing to brag about at all.

It makes me so mad when some of you think your shows are so much better but let me tell you there are many faithful fans of Days of Our Lives and your shows are no better than it is. I get so tired of all the Days bashing that goes on here and other boards too.

I think Days has done very well for February considering the show did not have any big sweeps events and ran it's stories basically as it would the rest of the months. The same for ATWT who has kept the status quo for sweeps month.

The ratings are all about the few thousand people who are Nielsen families who represent us all. I think soaps are the most undercounted TV programs and next year when they include college dorms into the mix, I think we'll see a bit of an uptick.

To me 2.5 is the same as 3.0. Still terrible and on a downward trend from a few years ago. Too many spoilers and end of show previews that give so much away, there's no need to tune in every day for the average fan.

If it was based on quality GL, B&B and Pass would all be at the bottom and 2 out of 3 are so i think it's fair. Overall i think the ratings are fair in alot of instances. ATWT, AMC, Days, OLTL all deserve their middle spots. GH should be lower alot of the time but they do excellent sweeps stories so i except that they do so well during sweeps, sweeps is the rare time that GH deserves to be in the front of the pack.

I personally can't get over how B&B comes in second constantly. I really think B&B is one of the worst soaps on air.

Roger I agree with you about the spoilers. If a show like Lost gave away so many spoilers like the soaps do now, they would lose a lot of the mystery surrounding their show and Lost would lost a lot of what makes it a success. People tune in each time to try and figure out the secrets to the numbers, the symbolism, etc. Soaps need to get back some of the mystery and some of the surprise that they had years ago.
