Yeah, I used to be a Sam fan, but I have to agree that Kelly can be a really lazy actress. That's why I'm not looking forward to the Liz/Sam confrontation. I like Billy Miller more than many people here, but I agree that he's not doing anything special here.  I don't think he's any worse than Burton when he decided to check out though.

 

The tendency to check out is a major problem I have with some of these actors. They have some talent, but they won't bring it unless they feel like it. I sympathize a tiny bit when it's because the material is just too stupid. Not even a little when it's because they aren't getting the screen partner they want. That's complete BS and they are getting paid way too much for those shenanigans. 

 

 

I like BM and KM. I was definitely liking his take on Jakeson when he first arrived but he and KM just seem to become lazy actors. KM has actually gotten a little less sleep-walky through her scenes, for the most part. She's clearly invested in the Jakeson reveal and for the longest she only lit up on screen around Thompson and during Patrick/Sam.

But is it that Miller checked out, or that he is incapable of checking in?   Constance Towers he  said had to tell him to speak up and that was when he had first started.    I have no idea how Billy Miller won emmys, he seems to just stand there.   The guy on DOOL who plays the nutjob married to Abigail is far better than Miller is, and all that guy is is a shirtless model by training.

 

I think Miller gives off a likable personality for the most part and he's very facial. Expressive. And to me there's a difference between that and actual acting. He doesn't really act so much as he reacts. And he can do a good job with that. I'm not explaining myself very well but that's how I see him.

Kind of like the acting Chandler Massey did at Days….hehehe….

I'd actually rank Chandler above Miller. Well above. TBH. But Massey isn't as great as he was made out to be either, LOL. But hell, this is the Academy that gave Natalia Livingston an Emmy so ... they clearly aren't the best judges of talent. Massey and Miller both aren't hurting for Emmy's. I think both guys can deliver when they really push and try but overall they're just flat and rely on grinning. It's just falling into lazy habits and not challenging yourself as an actor.

Miller is a frat boy with a smirk many would love. It always has a certain type of audience (Michael Weatherly's career rests on it), and always will. The problem is those in the press who hyped him up as the ideal, acted like he was key to Y&R, then acted like he was a huge get for GH, when he never did a thing for ratings on either show. He's certainly no worse than Burton could be, but I think Burton occasionally tried (mostly with KMcC). It's the backstage stuff with Burton that was more bothersome and probably why he needed to go.

 

They shouldn't have brought Jason back. It wasn't worth it. Miller, similar to his run on Y&R, has chemistry with no one, and Jason could have been made irrelevant if they had just moved on. Instead it's just the same old nonsense, albeit with less messiah undertones, but also without the history Burton brought to the role. Even bringing Jake back from the dead was completely meaningless. I don't think it's a coincidence that with Jason's return came a sustained ratings drop.

 

Miller wasn't worth the price tag. He never has been. The only reason I would say he should have a career in the industry is off his ass.

U can't compare soaps in 80s to now. Much bigger genre and huge budgets.what worked then wouldn't work today. U need a more budget conscious more modern approach to storytelling. They are using a innovated blueprint of taking soaps to 2020. Jean is more classic but Shelly what a gem she loves modern new age writing. It's the east meets the west in this writing duo. It feels fresh modern and current and not dated or stale.

The reveal is only going to highlight two performers. Laura Wright will bring it, as she is a professional, regardless of the crap they give her. RH will do what she always does. (just like SC on Y&R) and show up no matter what.

And then Rylan's Lulu was regressed to a vegetable and frozen. At least they sort of had scenes I guess. I still can't get over Lulu's attitude when Laura "crashed" Tracy and Luke's ridiculous Haunted Star engagement party thing.

Jason, played by Billy Miller, is boring.  What did you expect?

Dull ass pudgy Jason reveal no effort whatsoever by a pudgy BM. The custody battle with low life murders Ava and Sonny was just as dull. BM looked like he wanted a snack and a nap. As always Monica was MIA Monica should've been at the wedding. This isn't Smart TV this is a dying show gasping it's last breaths.They brought back Kristina but she's never on. Michael kissing Sonny's ass. The stuff with Anna and Paul was terrible. A pudgy Jason grabbing a pudgy Nic was funny. What was also funny was that the little bit of wedding guest all disappeared, a big reveal is meaningless without a room filled with people.
