Burgess needs to go to B&B and play Jack Wagner's character…he is so out of place at Y&R. I still do not understand why DT was recast with him…makes no sense considering how the story is going so far….

Agreed. I think DT would have been fine, but I think it was still so close to BM and we know how AH loves BM. I have nothing again Burgess, but I don't think of him as Billy - more like an Abbott relative. But it is darn creepy seeing him with MCE. I mean if EH returns as Chloe and her surprise, it will be an even worse contrast.

MCE and DT were so cute together. I was enjoying them as a couple yet they brought in Burgess. Burgess looks too old for MCE…and his acting is just under the radar…he is nothing special. Reminds me of the ART recast with Susan Batten….damn FMB…...

DT had great chemistry with everyone except AH and that is unfortunately what got him sacked. The irony is that he was just starting to make the role his again when he got the heave-ho. Another irony is that Victoria spends the bulk of her time with Stitch, not Billy. I think too that in those confrontation scenes between DT and SC, the height differential somehow made TPTB unconfortable somehow-- very silly, I think because people come in all sorts of heights and builds in life but apparently DT somehow didn't conform to JFP's idea of manhood (i.e. beefie beefcake).

Just think about it-- had JFP been in charge of Y&R in the 80s/90s, most of the actors that we've come to adore throughout this show's history would never have worked on this show as I'm fairly certain they wouldn't be in line with her physical standards of what's acceptable looks-wise.

All true but I don't consider Burgess a beefcake….he looks older than Jess Walton now…Billy that is…LOL

And how many times has Burgess taken off his shirt….zero…..

I still love that ATWT fans sent cans of dog food to CBS with that unreal recast. Probably one of the worst 'unforced' recasts in daytime history. This one isn't nearly as bad, it's probably because Burgess is far easier on the eyes than SB. Talentwise, different story. It still burns me that DT was treated so horribly. Honestly, with Burgess, where does the Billy character go after the Gabriel reveal and inevitable reunion? Definitely not Victoria - there is zero chemistry there. Probably Phyllis, I suppose.

Had a catch up marathon yesterday but forgot to post so this will be all over the place

Poor Paul and the Bug! I really wanted them to have this baby, LLB and DD are fantastic in this story though. Nikki has been completely inappropriate when it comes to the boundaries of marriage and she's been a mess for so long that I'm kind of looking forward to The Bug going after her with guns blazing. Neil continues to be a piece of sh!t letting Nikki take the fall.

Hunter King is going a great job with the Austin & Abby affair reveal, those funeral scenes were excellent. This is the kind of stuff she excels at, not these lame insta pairings TPTB keep trying to shoehorn (to her credit she really tried to make the Austin pairing work). Quick sidebar but her and the guy playing Noah have really good chemistry, too bad they're playing siblings. Anyway Melissa Ordway is doing good work as well though to a lesser extent. Loved the slap Summer gave Abby today. It sucks that Austin is dead so we couldn't see the affair in real time, this is the first guy she's had comfortable chemistry with.

Still not crazy about nuSmarmyKyle but he looks a lot like PB so good job on that front. Glad he got exposed for knowing about Abby and Austin and for being in town & at the cabin.

This story continues to be a derivative mess man. Now today we find out Austin was making an exposé on the Newmans/Abbotts, and we have nuSmarmyKyle basically trying to gaslight Summer. Thankfully her memories came back and she knows the truth. Even though nuSmarmyKyle is really shady I think its going to end up being BarbieCop who dun it, just because she's the most expendable and least suspected. I shudder to think of what ridiculous motive Pratt's going to try and pull out of his ass though.

The way they rushed through Billy and Chelsea's engagement in 2 segments in Fridays show tells me exactly how they see Burgess Meredith. He's a seat filler recast, a stock to throw in random love triangles/quads. When this Adam stuff reaches its climax he'll be back off to the side with Vicki and Stitch, and shout out to Pratt for lowering their airtime. Billy asking Gabe/Adam to be his best man today is so contrived but necessary for the meat of this story, which is the big Adam reveal.

Random bits

I really dig Sharon and Dylan

Ashley needs a better storyline of her own

And Hillary was severely missing last week, need my boo back especially now with her heel turn however real or fake it is

The last time Billy took his shirt off was when he had a sex scene on the couch with Chelsea IIRC. He has a nice body, kind of Ken dollish but perfectly fine. He's just so bland, no charisma, no sexy there at all. imo.

Chelsea has changed the color of her hair and in her scenes with Sage today they looked like twins. Same hair color, style and facial expressions. Wierd.

The other thing that was kind of wierd about today's show was how much they pointed out the camera in the lab at Jabot. It was making noise all through Ashley and Abby's scenes and then when Stitch was talking to Victoria the show did a wide shot to include the lab camera, with it's flashing red light, in the shot. Wonder what that's all about.

    • 5-13   Hmmm. That was a little bit better.   I admit that it did appear that Damian and Lily are dancing around each other. I don't mind it tooo much because I like them together. But there is only so many times they can have issues around trust. But at least he decided he might be willing to work with her against Dumas.   I actually enjoyed Giggly Heffa/Billy/Sally. This time at least. I would have liked to see Phyllis continue to be introspective and form an obsessive bond to Sharon...which was where their storyline appeared to be going...because it felt like it was going to lead to something new. So sad that does not seem to be the case. That said...Phyllis scheming is something I can get behind and MS does give good scheme face. Bonus that it will move the Dumas storyline right along by her taking things into her own hands.    Phyllis...and Victor? Well...hmmm. I have to giggle at these Summer mentions.
    • @VelekaCarruthers thank you, but was not Katherine who had feelings for her friend Joann because she missed her deceased husband and felt lonely and tried to kiss her and Joann ended their friendship? I have not seen anything on You Tube and I don't know if the kiss was aired or not. I still have to consider the kiss between Bianca and Lena on AMC in 2003 as the first lesbian one on US soaps.

@dc11786 thank you for the detail about Azure and Bernardo's sex scene which I ignored - or, better said, I know Azure comes out to Bernardo right after having sex when he want to know the true after reading the scoop by Jared Chase, but I didn't know their first time was showed on TV. Now I really want to see this episode. I'm reading on Wiki that Another Life went on air on Christian Broadcasting Network and maybe that is the reason for which Tony was an unseen character as Stanley Walker in Will & Grace. @j swift thank you too for the answer. Very helpful. ✌ It seems this storyline was a mess and very bad. What a shame and missed big opportunity.
    • I don't care.  I feel that murderers and rapists shouldn't be romantic leads.
    • https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/7th-heaven-reboot-cbs-studios-jessica-biel-1236401017/ Sources say that the new show would focus on a diverse family, and that none of the original cast members would appear.  Anthony Sparks will serve as executive producer and showrunner on the reboot.  Jessica Biel, who starred in the original series, is executive producing under her Iron Ocean banner along with Michelle Purple.  DeVon Franklin will executive produce via Franklin Entertainment and his overall deal with CBS Studios. Sparks was previously the showrunner on the critically-acclaimed OWN series “Queen Sugar.” He also worked as an executive producer on “Bel-Air” at Peacock and the Mike Tyson biographical series “Mike” at Hulu. His other TV writing credits include “The Blacklist” and “The District.” Franklin is best known for producing faith based films like “Miracles from Heaven” and “Heaven Is for Real.” He previously held positions at Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment as well as MGM and Sony’s Colombia Pictures. In his time as a studio exec, he worked with Smith on films like “The Pursuit of Happyness,” “Hancock,” and “Seven Pounds.” His other credits include the animated Biblical film “The Star” as well as “Flamin’ Hot” and the BET+ original series “Kingdom Business.”
    • I think both of them have been given balanced, nuanced, and honest writing about who they both are, flaws and all, for months now. It's not so basic or black and white.
    • Grant Aleksander talks a bit about Capitol 50 minutes into this interview. He says he did the show because he was under a hold due a pilot he made for Aaron Spelling and only had limited choices in what he could do. John Conboy agreed to hire him at Capitol for six months but told him he would only really have two sets - a pool and a bed.

    • The Gio apology tour is getting very annoying and boring really fast.
    • I can't believe sweet and innocent Sarah Whiting would call Evie Stone a "tramp" and Wendy Carter a "slut"!

Phillip Brown and Maree Cheatham did not get along at all
    • Xander and EJ are villains.  I don't like them being written as romantic leads.  My opinion.
    • And those two couples cover all the main families on the show. As long as good story is happening than I'm happy to continue on with them together.
