Soap deaths that made you cry

Laura on Knots Landing. Not the overly dramatic funeral two-parter. When she drove off and said "Hold on." OMG.

Or when Laura went shopping with Karen and bought dresses for little Meg because Laura had to plan it now and Karen realised that Laura would be dying. Knots brougjt me to tears many times.

I was just about to say Jennifer Munson's death. That was heartbreaking and beautifully done!

(

What made it even sadder was that it was Benjamin Hendrickson's final episode.

I remember the "Goodbye My Friend" closing credits for Maureen. That killed me as a kid. Made it almost seem like Ellen Parker had died as well.

Vanessa's "Oh, Maureen..." is a close second.

I must admit, that moment gets to me, too. It's just one line, and yet, Maeve Kinkead nailed the emotions behind it so beautifully. The news just cut Vanessa so deeply.

The other was when Tod Chandler died on Days with his sister Liz singing to him.

OMG. You know, there once was a time when DAYS could hit you right in the gut with emotions. :(

This and the scene in the car were so moving. They completely botched most of her funeral by turning it into an exercise into the cast hamboning, but those two scenes, and the video will, were incredibly powerful.

Laura's death on Knots Landing

Bobby's fake dream death on Dallas

Bryant's death on ATWT

Tonio's death on ATWT...dont ask me why but I think it was the music that was played during his death and the acting by Claire Beckham...

Neal Alcott's death on ATWT

Storm Logan - B&B. I was a complete mess, blubbering and all. When Donna came into the room and screamed, I really lost it.

Why am I crying now!!!

Don't get me wrong. I like the funeral episode for the camp value. But it was not what they were going for.

And I can make the coffee as well as you can Carl.

Alan Quartermaine going down via heart attack with a hail of bullets focused on him the whole scene was mesmerizing.... Stuart acted his bum off with no dialog.....Lucky going through the glass window to save him, Luke pissed he tried to talk Lucky out of it because it foiled their plan to save LuLu in the MC hostage crisis...

Choked up/welled up, countless times, but the tears only rolled when Sue Ellen spoke at J.R.'s funeral. Daytime soaps are ever evolving, timeless, but J.R.'s death punctuated the end of a very special era for me.

Most of the moments of note that come to mind have already been mentioned, but I'll add that Regina Belle singing If I Could at Dominique's service on GH was very moving for me.

My hero, JR Ewing

I will admit that I did a lot of ugly crying during the memorial episode for JR.
