I don't know but I am curious about Kelly and Stitch. Their scene was pretty good and because we don't know either of them it was even better. It can fo literally anywhere. That is how you grab an audience with newbies.

Her character on GL started off a nice girl. She was a woman who was the foil to the epic romance of supercouple Reva and Josh. But Reva was such a fabulous bitch that it was hard to even care that she would going to steal Josh back from sweet Annie. Then something switched in Annie as she realized that Josh was going to leave her. She started drinking and popping pills, and went batshit crazy. Then Reva vs Annie started and it was awesome! CW won the Emmy for it. FYI Signey Coleman (Hope) took over her role when she left GL.

I know some don't care for storylines where 'newbies' interact in a kind of side storyline but I think it works in this case because TPTB seem to have decided to limit contact between these two characters, for the time being, at least. And I think everyone noticed how Cynthia Watros instantly 'perked up' in these scenes with Stitch. They both are showing a bit of edge and it adds intrigue to both characters and their backstory. Hopefully TPTB play the right beats and don't ruin the groundwork that they've laid here.

That was vintage Watros at her best. I hadn't seen the Stitch character until today but what a find by Y&R. I am sure he is being wasted on the show though. The actor is hot and can act.....on a side note it was weird seeing Eileen Davidson, Jess Walton and Cynthia Watros all on recurring list....such talent...nice to see TEB back on contract.

Does Leslie doubtful looks mean that she will escape Neil's grasp? I hope so because they have absolutely no chemistry.

I also hope that all this Phyllis talk mean that Jack will be getting a new love interest soon.

Run away from Nick, Sharon, run like the wind!

I have no doubt that leslie will marry neil. This is just typical Neil romance writing. No real story. Just some small drama in an attempt to make things interesting. I guarantee she marries him.

I think Jack will get a new romance...probably Kelly then he finds she slept Billy. Jack will stick with her because he "hasn't felt this way since Red". I also get the feeling Hilary has a crush on him. That might be explored.

Exactly for Leslie...I get the feeling she was given a contract specifically for this pairing. And for the first time in 7 years, KSJ is actually trying to sell the pairing as him really loving her (unlike Karen, Tyra, and Sophia, whom he all married for a reason other than love. And was never even written to love them or tell them that he did). So the writers seem invested. I just wish she was older and they had more chemistry.

I think Kelly is better than Hilary. But I can't lie, I want them to explore Hilary being "confused" over what she feels for Jack. Because PB only knows one way to deliver lines, their scene today went over harsher than I think it was intended. Instead of being supportive and concern for her and her life, he looked more like he was "putting her in her place".

I can't imagine that they will go there with Jack and Hilary. Don't you think that Hilary was given a contract so she can be specifically paired with Devon?

As for Leslie, maybe she will get to have a fling with Mason or some other guy she actually has chemistry with.

Yes. From her first day, with her height, I knew she was brought on specifically for Devon. The story was set up perfectly for their romance and her to have an antagonistic relationship/rivalry with Lily (her other major purpose, I think). I can't say that they won't go there at all with Jack. I have watched soaps long enough to know that the story for certain characters supersedes that of others. I have no doubt that if jack and Hilary create buzz, something will happen on that front and Devon will just have to wait. Didn't something along those lines happen with Ronan, Chloe, and Phylllis. Granted, that was under MAB and we all know how she ran her ship but you understand what I mean...

I am hoping Mason takes Abby from Tyler because that is not working at all.

I actually think Avery might just be gone...eventually. The show would be better served creatively by putting Dylan with someone else. I can't even believe I am saying this because they have no chemistry, but Chelsea would be better because Victor is trying to take Connor.

    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
    • It feels like the show suddenly woke up today and remembered it was Sweeps month. Lots of action and forward momentum, including a delicious Nina/Carly fight.

    • Where did I say that you weren't allowed to say anything? Personally I just find "disgusted" a very strong word, and not something I would use for such a trivial matter as a song contest. You obviously do, and that's your prerogative, just as it is mine to disagree.
