OMG! Who is Stamos calling sociopathic? I think he thought Ron started the tweet convo if I'm seeing this correctly? LMAO if he called Ron sociopathic, we've all been saying that for years.

I was pretty sure her Franco/Jason twin manipulation had begun before that though, no?

This is the entire conversation:

@JohnStamos would you ever consider coming back to #GH ?

Never! I tried, they wanted me 2 play J.G. on drums with R.S. Legacy too important to me. RT @maddiebullock19 come back to #GH ?

@JohnStamos @maddiebullock19 I'm sure I will be shouted down by 1.3M people, but this is a total mischaracterization of what occurred.

Sociopathic! You don't remember phone call in @valentinifrank office? RT @maddiebullock19 @carlivatiron @valentinifrank

@JohnStamos @valentinifrank @maddiebullock19 Yes, I remember it well. But for some reason you seem determined to rewrite the narrative.

Here's a dumbed down version in case anyone is still confused:

Fan: Hi John Stamos, would you ever return to GH?

John Stamos: Never! I tried to! They wanted met to play Jessie's Girl behind Rick Springfield….The legacy of Blackie is too important to me for that horse [!@#$%^&*].

Ron Carlivati: Uh-uh girl that's not what happened.

John Stamos: Don't lie bitch, are you a sociopath? do you not remember the phone call in Frank's office?

Ron: That's not how it happened!! You're re-writing history!!

You know, even when some people are genuinely acting a fool - like Jack Wagner, who despite some very valid complaints about this spring's Frisco storyline, was not exactly putting in a brilliant performance himself at the time either, and seemed tone-deaf in the press to how it made Kristina feel - that doesn't mean that you, as the head writer on a major television program, have to get in there and act a fool too. (Wagner also supposedly told RC and the writers up front that the material was "pedestrian" or facile or something, and while it may be a dick thing to say and Jack Wagner may be a major dick all around, I can't really disagree re: that story.) Sometimes the best thing to do with obnoxious people is sit back and let them rage and bury themselves, instead of burying yourself in the process.

John Stamos's story, OTOH, checks out and he's been sticking to it since much earlier this year. He explained this in-depth in another recent article and I happen to believe it. Ron just doesn't like being questioned or told no.

It's not as bad as I thought, but between this and Jack Wagner's complaints you can tell that Valentini isn't great with the people skills.

I say Valentini, not Ron, because it's Valentini's job as producer to meet or deal with these people. Clearly he didn't do a good job of it during the anniversary.

I think they both look ridiculous. Ron clearly has no social skills and needs to get out of conversations that don't involve him and John Stamos needs to stop harping over a cameo from 10 months ago. If he didn't like what they wanted him for (and the truth is more in between than what both parties say although JS is way closer to the truth), then turn it down and move on. They both look stupid.

I wasn't even aware John Stamos was some big draw or worth all this fighting over.

My coming week has been made! Someone calling moRon out for the sociopath he is! I absolutely love it!

Agreed, Ant. Ron jumped into a convo that didn't concern him. And IIRC, this from JS is consistent. He didn't want a cameo on the drums behind RS. I remember this vividly because I felt he was wrong at the time for not wanting to come and honor GH for its 50th.

    • There's also the soap opera conundrum: once characters get everything they want, they tend to stagnate. Nola got everything she wanted. One of the things that was really interesting about her was that tremendous need for things out of her grasp. Once that was resolved, there wasn't much left for her to play. Maybe Long could have found something to replace that, but since she wasn't created by Long, she probably preferred to focus on the needy character she created: Reva. They were still significant stockholders. They could have punched back. Vanessa forced to team with the brother she resents. I can see it working.
    • She could have easily tied them into the Cottage Mystery...(they could have easily explained going on adventures with Bea, babysitting) The house that Tony and Annabelle lived in could have been the coachhouse of the property that Qualo and Henry live in, or at the very least Nola would have been totally in on ghosts and secrets of her brother's house. But they kind of just sat around for months.  The clip of Van and Billy's impromptu wedding shows how sidelined Nola and Quint became...Nola isn't even around butting in on them getting married, its all Reva (though it is a more interesting Reva where Mindy and her or going at it and insulting each other..THAT Reva was fun.)  I loved it when those two would go at it. Somehow they could have resurrected that antogonistic relationship and not have Billy worshing at the throne of Reva.  When they brought JC back on recurring they should have had him at least warn Annie about Jeva pulling her down..."Darlin' I love my brother, but when he has ole Reva in his sites he will drop any woman to try to win her back...and then he will get bored with her...she's like booze is to me and you...he hates it but he needs it..get out while you can!"
    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
    • In an interesting turn of irony, when Somerset came onto the airwaves in 1970... it ran against Dark Shadows and beat it in the ratings fairly quickly.  Then when Edge of Night moves to ABC in December 1975 and put against Somerset, the slow ratings rise that Somerset was allegedly having in late 1975 is derailed. From reading the write ups of the final year, the show dropped the May/December romance.. which viewers enjoyed and was getting the show some good press... the original cast member was sidelined due to medical issues, and the show featured pure crime stories without any balance. I think the crime focus was an attempt to compete with EON.  However, people that were into crime stories/mysteries weren't going to tune into Somerset for their fix.. not when Edge of Night was known for that.. and that show was running on a high quality wise when the network switch occurred.

    • Erwin Nicholson's last episode as SFT ep was 11/21. Whitesell started 11/22/85. Erwin was on board from March 8, 1985 so less than 9 months. Whitesell lasts six months (approximately) before P&G moved him to AW for two years where he primarily worked with DePriest. Whitesell was replaced on Search by no daytime experience David Lawrence who closed out the show's last six months.

    • I assume in name only?  One Stormy Night wasn't exactly steamy.  If it's a literal throwback then Stephanie's writing about sexy times her own Uncle was having lol. Since I am going to surmise it's just a throwback to the name, Night Sins and Winter Heat both sound sexier.  Just saying.  I swear Jamey (and Ron) just google things and land on the first thing they like and decide it's a good throwback to history without watching it.
