The Delia storyline is massive umbrella storyline that encompasses all of the cast. The decisoon to kill her was controversial and it very risky. All these amazing performances and drama surrounding it. Wait until it all cumulates to a major climax. The music is so haunting and creepy. When Maria Arena Bell wrote the show I cringed we had Angelina, miscast soap vets galore and horrid stories. We have a major story with Y&R vets galore thats gripping something Maria never wrote.

When a soap unnecessarily has to kill children for story there is a lack of ideas.

Killing off a child that connects Jill, Esther and the Abbotts shortly after Kay's death is lazy and stupid writing. Y&R's stories were not interesting enough and they needed something "explosive".

What connection did Delia really add? She was no different than the other young kids. She was an Abbott is name only and spent most of her time with Chlovin and the Baldwin/Fisher family. She was one of many unnecessary kids created over the past few years on this show. Jill, Esther and the Abbott family already had a connection established long before Delia.

Delia was indeed unnecessary, like most of the kids of the past few years. So was her death though.

I USED to say Y&R viewers were different from other soaps' viewers. But after LML, MAB, JFP and Josh Griffith (among others), I just don't know anymore.

I just don't understand this "they killed a child" hang up so many have. Why not? If it brings good drama and not a quarterly or annual thing, why not? It's giving quite a few characters something to be involved in, and Delia? Come on now!

Why not?

Times are hard, and after being on for so many years, it's tough for these shows to come up with something new. All they can do is re-visit old stories and put a different spin on them. I hear YR is not doing many business stories that much. They can get back to this, but not much is going to be new here either.

Anywho, LOL @ some fans biotching that Sharon should be involved in the Delia story since Nick gets to comfort Billy, Sharon should be able to do the same for Chloe snce she too lost a daughter.......uh r these people watching the smae show LOL! Chloe has Traci amd Ashley, not Sharon who to this day aint dealing with the deathn of her daughter to well!

Wait...did I miss Ashley and Traci comforting Chloe? They seem to all be about Billy. Chloe hasn't been on their radar. She only has Kevin being that writets refuse to use Esther...or Jill for that matter.

Y&R was never a show with a brand new death every two months. TPTB should have tried something else after all these deaths in the last years. We had Kay's funeral not that long ago, what was the reason? That the show didn't have an interesting for a sweeps climax?
