January 6, 201313 yr Member All of my friends know that I'm a Susan Lucci freak and tease me about it going waaayyy back. I have done more than a few school projects on soaps including two video projects on Susan. One was a mess as we were not prepared to present that day and me and my partner got an "E".
January 6, 201313 yr Member For many years I did not realize that Nathan Purdee had left the role of Nathan on Y&R and had been replaced by Randy Brooks. I just thought he had played the role, left, and was replaced by that awful actor with the skunk hair. I was not paying enough attention to all of Y&R at that time to notice, just certain stories, when I had time. I didn't realize until reading up on the show quite some time later. I felt like a dumbass, even more than usual. Edited January 6, 201313 yr by CarlD2
January 6, 201313 yr Member As a young teen I would play the ATWT closing theme on my vcr to no end driving my mom crazy....lol Edited January 6, 201313 yr by Soapsuds
January 6, 201313 yr Member I had to record a five-minute audio on any topic for an audio production class in college -- this was way back in the early 80s. I did it on soaps, and scored it to "General Hospi-Tale" by the Afternoon Delights. I often find myself whistling or humming old soap themes and scores, sometimes in the presence of other people.
January 6, 201313 yr Member Sometimes I used to tell my friends about a cool story I'd seen on a soap, but then would never actually tell them it came from a soap, because I knew they'd give me [!@#$%^&*].
January 6, 201313 yr Member ^Me too on the last one. I hum the old FOTH theme from GH all the time. I think men that are on soaps are at least 5x better looking than men who are in Hollywood (movie stars, primetime stars, musicians, etc)
January 6, 201313 yr Member During the summer when I was 12, I taped the entire Bo, Hope, Larry and Megan storyline on my portable cassette player by holding the cassette player up to the speaker on the TV. Then I would listen to the audio over and over until I could repeat the dialogue from memory.
January 6, 201313 yr Author Member I work out to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPkN5Do4mkQ
January 6, 201313 yr Member As a middle schooler I used to record myself on audio cassette tape doing Days fanfics and AW/ATWT/GL crossover fanfics.....I still have them.

January 6, 201313 yr Member I used to love Eugene and Calliope on DAYS and was just crushed when they left. I loved Luna on OLTL and cried when she died.
January 6, 201313 yr Member The first few years I watched the Daytime Emmys, I would get very angry if anything but CBS soaps won awards. (boy are those days long gone)
January 6, 201313 yr Member The day Lily found out that Iva was her mother I stayed home and watched & missed a family funeral....lol
January 6, 201313 yr Webmaster I got angry with my brother who broke my tape of the Daytime Emmy Awards the year Rent sang "525,600 minutes" the same night I recorded it. I've never forgiven him. LOL.
January 7, 201313 yr Member When I write my soap fanfic, I literally act out the scenes to make sure the dialogue is right and sounds like something the characters would say. Imagine me playing Erica Kane, Skye Chandler and Hayley Vaughan...All in the same scene. Edited January 7, 201313 yr by SoapBoy94
