This actually kinda is one of my gripes with the story. Sure, Cinderella stories are classic soap to some level. But the fact they portray Britt as being sexually aggressive (and I don't mean JER style let's rape some guy level here), and Sabrina is shown as a giggly, sweet, virgin (especially given the fact we know Patrick is far from virginal) just seems so archaic. But it's been telegraphed so clearly that we have to hate her, that I can't see why anyone wouldn't. (And speaking of archaic, the fact that she is so obsessed with winning over this guy who hasbarely shown any interest in her, at all costs, is pretty obnoxious... That's why I'd actually welcome, as cliche as it is, the fact that she may have some ulterior motive for going after him as others have suggested)

Hmm, from what you're describing, it sounds like Ron is recycling the whole Madonna vs. Whore thing with this storyline. Not something that I'm interested in at all, but I don't think that Britt's time on this show should end after that storyline wraps up, either. Again, I'm judging by what I've seen and I'm thinking that you've seen more than what I have, but I do think that the character (at least, how the actress plays her) has the potential to shine in the right storyline (as a full-on bitch or a misunderstood one).

There are three things about Britt that bother me more than anything else, two of which have to do with the kids thing (which in

itself is not a bad thing--not all women are required to like kids or want their own):

1. Isn't she a pediatrician? Or a doctor that specializes in kids in one way or another? Why be a kids doctor if you don't even like them? Seems like an ill fit to me.

2. It is pretty clear that Emma doesn't like her. No, it IS clear--Emma has flat out said she doesn't like her at least twice. I know that a lot of kids may not necessarily always like who their parents date at first, but you'd think Patrick would be more sensitive to her feelings about this, especially given how young she is. And you'd think Britt would have realized that by dating Patrick, she has to realize Emma would/should come first, and depending on how serious things get, she's inevitably part of the deal and will find herself having to try to bond with her (and this goes back to the not liking kids thing, too--if she doesn't like kids, why date someone WITH a kid?).

3. Patrick has shown signs that, even though he was willing to try going out with Britt at first, it was pretty clear that he was still grieving Robin and needed more time to move on. And Britt certainly shouldn't have barged in on something like Patrick and Emma setting up for their first Christmas without Robin. Have some boundaries, bitch.

I actually think I COULD like Britt--I've liked her in the scenes surrounding the surrogacy storyline, and some of her scenes with Liz earlier on--but there needs to be more layers to her, and like Cheap, she should be going after a guy (and AJ is just one example!) who's in a better position to have a relationship with her.

ETA: And although AJ himself has a son, Michael's an adult now--the need for a relationship between him and Britt isn't the same as the need for one between her and Emma if she's with Patrick.

  1. If Britt specializes in pediatrics, well, that's an odd path to go down if one can't stand kids. I can't imagine why she'd become a pediatrician (as opposed to a specialty that doesn't require that she work with kids often) for.
  2. If Patrick decides to date a woman that Emma hates, well, that's on him for ignoring his daughter's concerns in favor of getting laid. I'm not giving a pass to Britt for dating a guy with a kid, either, (though it makes more sense for her to do so in order to ultimately snag him as her husband - if that's what her ultimate goal is - than it does to pursue a career as a pediatrician) but it's ultimately his decision as Emma's father on whether he wants to continue seeing a woman that she has expressed her dislike for more than once.
  3. As for Britt and my AJ, I'd have to see them in scenes in order to determine whether I'd like to see more of them together. What I can say, though, is that Liz (since a lot of folks seem to be on the AJ/Liz train, though I'm not convinced about that one) and Britt battling for my AJ* would be a lot more interesting than what Britt's current storyline sounds like.

*Granted, I'm wee bit biased because I think it's about damn time that someone fight for one of my favorite GH males because he's been at the losing end of triangles for far too long.

If she is a pediatrician, maybe she thought she did think she liked kids originally, but changed her mind after actually having to

work with them. That would be kind of funny, actually, a story where she has a change of heart like that (in a depraved way, I guess laugh.png).

As for Emma hating Britt:

I think she's only told Sabrina that so far. Patrick should at least ask Emma what she thinks of her, though.

OLTL UO:

I LOVED Cristian and Natalie. After Jared died, I would have LOVED if those two had reunited. It's like the show

forgot they had even known each other by then.

I also would have liked to have seen her with Al. THAT was a missed opportunity for sure.

If he doesn't, then he's a bigger fool than I thought.

As for Britt hating kids, well, that'd make sense if Ron decided to remake her as a snarky character (as opposed to just bitchy).

Speaking of OLTL UOs, I thought that Roscoe Born as Messenger Mitch was sexy as hell...ph34r.png

(I'll go hide underneath a rock, now...)

I loathe Britt on GH and can't understand why anyone would like such a vile two faced character that doesn't have one redeeming quality

I don't mind new characters that don't suck.

I don't either and I don't mind old characters that don't suck either

And here I thought that I was the only one who'd have to moonwalk up out of this thread in utter shame.

Mitch was easily one of the worst things about OLTL post-2003. He should have stayed dead and I don't think the show benefited from any if his subsequent returns. It only led to more asinine retcons or characters I liked being killed. I think Mitch's presence did more damage than good

I loved Lindsay and Clint. I probably should have hated them as their marriage killed any hope of his almost reunion with Viki but I liked them anyway. I thought CH had major chem with JVD and its a shame nothing happened there bc his Clint was more suited for her than CR. they could have been a powerful mature leading couple to rival Bo and Nora

I have one. I couldn't give a [!@#$%^&*] less that Frisco is returning to GH.

He's a worthless deadbeat dad that couldn't have cared less for his two daughters.

I'd rather them had made Tony alive again.

I agree with all this.
