GH: Discussion for the Month of January

Ugh! Today is exactly what I meant about the writing for Connie being inconsistent. She was an unbearable cow of a bitch yesterday but she was soft, sympathetic and very easy to take today. I swear she changes from episode to episode. With that said, I enjoyed her scenes with Tracy. "Why would your personal life, pathetic as it may be...." laugh.png

Her dress was ugly as hell btw

C'mon. Everyone knows that Tracy/JE brings a vibe on set/scene to make anyone and everyone pumped and likeable. For peeps who don't like Connie, today was an exception. And yes the Connie/Tracy scenes were probably the best scenes on today.

It had nothing to do with Tracy/JE. This is the first time I can recall her interacting with Connie, at least to this depth. Ive liked Connie before and I mentioned that yesterday. The writing for her is very inconsistent bc she can come across likeable in some episodes and unbearable in the next. Thats not a JE thing. Its purely on the writing

No,I didn't mean you specifically didn't like connie. I was pointing something out for people who don't like her,but enjoy JE or Tracy,or just to admit the scenes were pretty good. And yes the writting is very inconsistant.

If I never see that bullshit term, "propping," used in such a basic, arbitrary, uninspired way ever again, it'll be too goddamn soon. I don't see how anything Tracy did in those scenes propped Connie. Tracy didn't absolve her of her crimes. Tracy didn't tell her that everything she did was because she's good and pure. Tracy didn't tell her that causing the crash that killed Trey was for the best. Tracy was just a HUMAN as well as a mother and gave her condolences to another mother, traded notes with her on Joe Scully and bad choices in men and then got back to ELQ business.

Haha, thank you. I didnt want to go there but that was exactly what I thought on the subject matter

Here's one of the many problems I have with Constanza Louise Falconeri - how in the sam hell are people doing business with that wacko? First off, it's common knowledge that she's mentally ill. That had to have made the papers along with Kate being institutionalized for killing 3 people she didn't really kill. Then she kills her son in an accident because she was trying to get away after kidnapping the husband she was blackmailing.

We know that this freak clown is not in jail because Kelly S is a FRon pet and the the most brilliant thing to come down the pike, but it makes absolutely NO sense that people are doing business with this woman knowing all that they know! That's ridiculous!

I skipped today but caught possibly the last 5 minutes on YT because I heard that NLG's hair looked worst than ever, and I didn't think that was possible, but Sonny should have simply told that clown twat if she didn't drop the charges against Krissy, he would see to it that she would be in jail immediately. Sonny talking to the cop about protecting Krissy made it seem as though he still has power (when its convenient).

THANK YOU LAWD JESUS!!! I was thinking the same exact thing! Like WTF?! You want to use the term propping take it to the topic of Sabrina/Britt/Patrick NOT Tracy/Connie. Speaking of,when Connie was metioning her teenage pregnancy and just the words abortion, got a reaction out of Tracy. Anyone else notice? Like I'm pretty sure that it's always on her mind. I really loved those scenes and they were better than anything else that showed today,or yesterday,or the other days for that matter. TBH I really like the dynamic of the two and hope for it to continue. I wish there was more to the scenes. Like more history or current situation,"talks". Just putting my opinion out there.

I thought that today and its obvious they are ignoring all of that. The entire premise behind her kidnapping Johnny and stopping him from confessing was bc then she'd lose her leverage to blackmail him and would go to Shadybrooke for treatment but thats been forgotten. Everyone is making deals with her and acting like she's a real person bc for intents and purposes RC has replaced Kate with Connie and it seems permanent. Its not like OLTL with Jess and Tess with Tess clearly always on the edge of being sent back unless she found a plan to hide and/or prevent Jessica's family from having her committed. No one is trying to help Connie and most have accepted that Connie is here to stay. That scene with Olivia the other day made that pretty apparent

Speaking of,when Connie was metioning her teenage pregnancy and just the words abortion, got a reaction out of Tracy. Anyone else notice? Like I'm pretty sure that it's always on her mind.

I noticed that and thought hse was gonna mention her own abortion

Woe is me poor little vicitmized Connie, that's how it was used, she is anything but a victim. I like Tracy's human moments, but this one fell short and flat.

Tracy of all people shouldn't have to be used to make us feel sympathy for Connie. That's propping. Propping isn't black and white. Connie is propped, Sabrina is propped and Kristina is propped all in different ways(Sam too but that's another story). Especially when Connie is so self-righteous when someone dares to try to make her pay for something or whatnot, blah, blah.

Don't build sympathy for a character on the back of another one. Do it through their actions, show us, don't make it so that "oh Tracy is being nice to her, see Connie's not really the selfish, self-serving cow she's written to be!!"

If thats the case then wouldnt it be considered propping Tracy by using Connie to garner sympathy for her? Tracy was absolutely hateful and horrible with AJ and Michael yesterday and she started the episode wanting to cause the former trouble. She's been written as an irrational loud witch who can be quite unbearable at times but once she gets to talking to Connie, she shows a softer more human and empathetic side, which makes Tracy come across more likeable. Cant one turn it around and say "oh Connie is being nice to her, see Tracy's not really the selfish, self-serving cow she's written to be!!" How do we know that wasnt the intention of the scene then?

Love WK's Ned. Loved Ned/Lois, Alexis/Ned, and even Julia/Ned. The Skye nonsense they saddled him with was stupid and I do agree they had no idea what to do with him for the last 3 or so years he was on the show, but I like him and all the Q's honestly.

Anyhoo, Sonny groveling for a woman doesn't bother me. Sonny groveling for this paticular woman does. I mean after watching him treat the women in his life like crap for years it hurts my heart that this girl is different. I would be accepting of him groveling for a few women (MW's Kate is one of them), but this all just feels like too little too late. There is nothing romantic about a mentally unstable woman telling you she wants nothing to do with you and it being treated as some sort of foreplay for a couple NO ONE has a vested interest in. I mean Johnny is the bad guy for taking advantage of a mentally ill woman, but Sonny is some sort of bleeding heart, true love believing romantic for trying to seduce the same (still) mentally ill woman? Not to mention the story is just BAD and a acting showcase for a newbie that has no real discernible fanbase. What should be Jason and Sonny's downfalls are suprisingly unsatisfying and for RC/FV to lay their lot with Kelly Sullivan as their new lead is just blah. I guess my point is Sonny being an airhog was one of his problems, but just airing a bad story once or twice a week doesn't make Sonny a better character. It just makes him on less. I wish RC spent more time refining already established characters instead of pushing his own creations, his favorite OLTLers, and having characters return only to appear once a month (Felicia) or be off air for weeks (Robert, Duke, Anna).

I have vague memories of Nedley and Julia, so I think I'll look up clips of those two to compare to his other pairings.

Re: KS - I'm in no position to comment on her prominence since I don't watch the entire show, though like you, I'd have much preferred that MW reprise the role of Kate over her.

I guess I can't get worked up about Sonny groveling at Konnie's feet - as opposed to his past women - because it's obvious that this relationship is an airtime filler until his true love returns to town. There's nothing about Sonny/Konnie from what I've seen that makes me believe that this is going to be endgame for him, so I just shrug at the entire thing. Besides, I'm a patient person when it comes to my all-time favorite GH couple. ;)

Sonny should've been written out YEARS ago, as he'd been written into a corner long before this regime ever took the reins. The fact that this show treated him as the King Dick of the lot in spite of this is why his ass was intolerable for so long. These days, GH isn't and that's an improvement over what many viewers were forced to endure.

This is far from Sonny getting knocked down a peg. Being knocked down would mean a rival mobster would come in and...wait for it...WIN! Not this crap. Mo's reduced airtime was enough. In fact, it might be time to write Sonny out. This crap is for the damn dogs, and I don't buy any of it. A new team comes in and the GH characters are all but unrecognizable? That's bullsh!t
