Why stop there? Why not just make her his real mother so she can have three kids that she was abe to keep secret until Carly blew into town? Next they can make Sam be the believed to be dead Caitlin with plastic surgery and amnesia and this is why she's so familiar. They can say that the daughter Alexis thought she had was hit by a car on her way into town to find Alexis and tell her the truth or have Kendall be her daughter. Helena was keeping her hostage somewhere with her other hostages and frozen relatives.

The thing that pisses me off is that it wasn't always like this in here. I find it to be absolutely no coincidence that the minute FV/RC's influence hit this show, the conversation in this thread has regressed drastically. Their influence has done nothing inspire actual conversation about this show.

One of the things that Brian Frons and his cohorts have failed to accept is that deception is not going to increase the number of viewers. I figured that once OLTL and AMC ended that some of the actors might end up on GH but moving OLTL characters over is worse. Maybe they thought that they would get OLTL viewers to tune in but that hasn't done anything for their numbers and they should admit failure and let it go. You can't improve GH by loading the show up with more people and ignoring other characters which was already a problem with the mob screen hogs.

I don't even watch the show anymore but I would hate to turn it on and see Starr. I didn't even want to see her on OLTL. Respecting GH's history is parading old characters in and out and reconnecting Jake's parents is having Elizabeth as head cheerleader for Jason and Sam. How does RC even think that people who might have wanted Jason and Elizabeth together would be happy with that?

SoapBoy94, what a gorgeous pic of Jackie Z..at her best I have always thought her very sensuous...

.I'm a huge Bobbie Spencer fan even during the Laura / Scotty / Luke days I use to root for her....for me GH descend began around '96ish esp when they made Carly her daughter & all that followed w/Tony Jones...to me they were trashed & yes I know its not soap for couples to last forever but I could actually see the agenda in wiring re: Sonny/Jason.. I kept thinking I was wrong but the writing never failed....

Also the demise (and return) of Stefan Cassadine another of my favs that was written horribly...I really liked him with Laura & Katherine Bell...who is another of my favs (she got thrown over the parapet) ...I liked the GH the most during the 70s/80's & the days of the nurses ball & all that....I'm old school GH

Do not put that out into the universe.

So how'd you like today? I thought Ron wrote some horrible and terribly dark and depressing garbage on OLTL, but this really does take the cake. Here we were afraid he wouldn't understand that GH is a more somber show than OLTL. Well he's managed to disappoint almost everyone. He's made it both campier than GH ever was before and morbid at the same time. mellow.png

GH killed those light moments long ago, along with their beloved heroines. Unless you saw spastic Alexis, face pulling Diane and Lunacy as comedy, which in and of itself were more sad then actually comedic.

Where is this happening? More over who cares if Jiz is happy at this point? They are both worthless entities who deserve nothing but the utmost despair and scorn from the entire community.

As for the GH/OLTL merge...I can't say it's working on a few different levels. Most of you covered the basics but my issue is I don't feel compelled to watch GH. If I'm in the mood, I watch the clips of Todd/Tea/John (sometimes Starr) online but I don't feel connected to GH so I don't watch the entire show. I think part of it is be being so emotionally worn out going through three cancellations that I just have no interest in watching another. That's not to say I don't like some of the characters or actors, I do - I like Anna, Luke (though I know his history), Tracy, Heather, Patrick, Elizabeth, Sam, Alexis, even Dante and Lulu sometimes. But a lot of them don't really mesh with my personality. I abhor violence so a show based around the mob with its two lead characters as the epitome of that...yeah, no thank you. Maybe I'll watch when John takes them down though. Not only that but there's just a lot of wasted airtime with characters that it's clear most GH viewers don't even care about - Kate, Olivia (I think that's her name), Steve, Spinelli (barf), nuMaxie. Clean house and maybe I'll come back for a legit merged show. And RC needs to drop the OLTL ripoffs. More DID, seriously?

Don't worry - RC is so totally incapable of writing with depth that the endless morbidity will be about as hard-hitting as an episode of Barney. Even a man trying to rape his own daughter is hilarious to RC.

The story is just a ripoff of a ripoff of a ripoff, full of overexposed characters who have already done this same story. Maybe that's supposed to be "irony". I call it lazy, cheap writing. I guess we should all say SOAPY GOODNESS! and wait for the ratings to go up .2 so we can start the parade.

    • John Black actually was the ultimate good guy soap hero. So I don’t mind the town gushing over him. It’s deserved.
    • Be glad it wasn't a Perry production.

    • I love my girl, but nope he's pathetic. 250K and now he's put her business at risk.   L O S E R

    • The whole town gushing over John Black as if he was a saint is eye rolling.  I guess death really colors people's memories over his many flaws, but I guess that is normal and human nature. I'm still confused as to why Leo hasn't been written out.  The actor stank up two soaps with his sub par acting, what does he have on TPTB's to remain on these soaps.   What's the point of Cat?  I hope the new head-writers figure out her purpose and develop her character. And I much prefer scenes not focusing on John's death because life does go on for the world when someone passes.
    • Wasn't there a break in Zaslow's first run? I thought Roger was off-screen for a while, and when Zas came back, Roger was hiding at the boarding house and Nola figured out there was something hinkey about him. I'm pretty sure Simon chose to leave the first time and was replaced by RVV. I don't want to assume Jordan's issues played a role in his first departure, but Maeve said in an interview that at some point, it became very hard for her to work with him and she asked to work with him less. That seems to fit 1986, where suddenly Vanessa is essentially Ross' law clerk and not at every Lewis family moment.
    • He needs to divorce her arse with her constant cheating.   She's no better than Doug... she's F*cking pathetic.
    • I didn't know of any interruptions for Maeve Kinkead after her 1997 return. Her runs would then be 1981-1987, 1989-1996, 1997-2000, short arcs until the end. I knew Maureen Garrett second run was interrupted from a 2009 interview but I couldn't recall the exact year. Her runs would then be 1976-1980, 1988-2000, short arcs until the end.
    • As I said in May, I have no problem with Martin and Bradley being married. You can still do all the fun introloper storylines with them as you do everyone else. Both men of a certain age, and it is very believable for them to have either a first love or have been previously married. And, you can do it without either of them cheating!

I said something similar during the premiere week. Bill was the perfect age to play Martin as Vernon and Anita's child. I would've much preferred this version, but oh well.
    • I don't know how you want to count Maeve. She "retired" in '00, but would come back for appearances. I don't know however if she made an appearance in '01 or '03. In '02 I believe she came back for Josh and Reva's wedding. I assume she came back when Gina Tognoni took over the role of Dinah. And I know she was back for Ross' memorial service. Maureen Garrett was around until at least '00. I don't think Holly was in town when Ben returned though. I just got pissed off about Jerry all over again.
    • So, pretty sure Zaslow, Garrett, Kinkead, and Newman all chose to leave the first time. (If that's wrong, please correct me). Bernau - not sure why he left the first time. Was it voluntary? Or did they decide to write him out? They were writing so many out during that time period. It always seemed odd to me that they introduced Alex, FINALLY giving him someone he could talk to, and then he was written out. Or maybe that's why they made Alex his sister, so she could take his place as the head of the Spaulding family? Would love more intel on that if anyone knows. Simon - was he replaced by RVV? Or did he voluntarily leave the first time? It seems to me like one of those times TPTB decided to sex up or glamorize a character (and it clearly flopped). If he was fired, interesting he came back. Again, would love if someone could spill the tea. Clarke - I've always assumed he left because of his personal issues, but not sure if that was the case the first time.
