http://pasadena.lang.../abc_052112.htm

It going down here

Hearing that abc will poll affiliates

do they want gh or gma in the afternoon in september?

early june abc will issue something offical

gh could be wrapping in september and if so abnc want blood on their affiliates hands

Ha Ha. PPl should seriously do some frickin research. No where on that link does it say its going down like that. The original article even said that thiss could all be a RUMOR but SECONDLY & most important starting in sept the 3pm EST slot is back to the affiliates and about 95% of them are airing Katie. The 2pm slot is network programmed. Affilaties will have NO SAY in what airs in that slot and THIRD after how Revolution tanked, ABC will not make GMA a full series until after they see how its test run goes., That run doesnt begin til July 9 so We will not know in JUNE. PPl will believe only the negative I guess. UGHHH

I really don't care how it does. GH will still be canceled for something else. ABC is done with soaps.

The noise is getting louder Twitter. Good thing I no longer give a chit! I'd rather it be gone than to have OLTL 2.0!

Virginia, it's quite possible that you're correct and I'm wrong on this matter. If one spends a lot of time on soap message boards and soap internet sites (like I do), it is easy to forget just how little power soap viewers have. This is especially true when one is bombarded with sentiments/comments to the effect of "ABC sucks," "we have to boycott ABC," "it was a huge mistake to cancel the mega-popular OLTL," "The Chew and The Revolution are the worst shows ever," etc.

I do recall reading articles that indicated Katie wanted a "strong" lead-in like GH (instead of The Revolution), but since many of these were written by the soap press, you do have to take it with a grain of salt. (However, I think that even the non-soap press has tried to suggest that "Katie" was made as a replacement for GH, which still makes me believe that she is at least partially scared of being demonized as the one who killed GH. And coming off her massive failure at the CBS Evening News, it is logical to believe that she wants her talk show to start off without any strikes against it.)

Oh, I'm not suggesting that Katie Couric is carefree or that she doesn't have to worry about her talk show being marred by any sort of backlash. I am simply saying that a soap fan backlash is minuscule and insignificant compared to the larger portions of people who can't stand her.

IMO, Katie has bigger fish to fry (or, in her case, win over) than the threat of a Ten Man March over the (long overdue) cancellation of GH in front of the ABC studios

I'm guessing if it gets good numbers, it's going to stay and GH canceled. To me, if GAA was only temporary, they would move GH to 2pm when Revolution ends in July and air GAA at 3pm until Katie's show debuts, since they are doing it the other way around, says to me, if it gets good ratings, GH is done.

SID twitter is telling people not to watch GMA in the afternoon cause it's bad for GH if they do *rme*

GH is done for either way

It's sad to see that even after all these cancellations people refuse to face facts. Fine. Let's do this again.

Even if GMA does well, it will take a while for ABCD to get it ready for permanent airing so GH will get time to wrap up.

RIGHT But If GMA does well I bet GH will off In January 2013

I don't see ABC pulling GMAITA off the air for 3 or 4 months and bringing it back if it does well. Why would they want to lose the momentum. I still think the most likely option is affiliates will be given the option of one or the other and GH might air in an alternate overnight timeslot on those that decide not to air it at 2:00 until it slowly just dies off.
