How is Connie not the host? Did they explain something? Of course I would have missed it, but how is Connie Falconeri not the host? Kate Howard is a name Connie pulled out of the sky because she thought it would fit the life she created for herself. Yes, it's vile for Johnny to sleep with a woman knowing something is wrong, but Connie wanted to have sex with Johnny.

I know RS explained this in the April thread, but something is still off here.

Usually an alter is created to protect the host. Connie does not need protecting because she can take care of herself and is the one causing trouble. This is just too ludicrous!

Connie is not real. She is an alter. Kate is the real thing, the dominant personality. Connie is a caricature and only created for one purpose and thats to protect Kate from Sonny. She is completely one dimensional bc she lacks the facets that make up a complete whole person.

Bc Connie is an alter, it is rape. Kate never consented to sex and Johnny himself has admitted to taking advantage of a woman he knew was mentally ill. Kate freaked out the last time Johnny tried to have sex with her and she came out before anything could happen. She was mortified and acted like someone who was nearly raped. It was clear that her intent had she been in control during the sex would have been no and he knew it. This is why rape is being thrown around

Wow, you missed a big point of the storyline. Connie doesnt need protecting. Kate however does, which is why her psyche split and created Connie to do what she cant

LOL...saw this on GH Secrets and thought of this thread

I got around to watching today's clips and Hater Yellgado has some damn nerve to say to Todd “8 years…that’s your excuse for everything” when her shady ass brother is one of the damn reasons why he was kept away in the first damn place.

While Todd was being tortured by Irene on a daily basis thanks to Nomas, Special Needs Vic was living Todd’s life, screwing Todd’s wife, spending Todd’s money, and doing a piss-poor job of raising Todd’s children.

When Irene was found out, this bitch had no problem going along with whatever her shady ass husband planned on doing – continuing to live the life that wasn’t even his.

Yet, Todd is wrong for being thrilled that his fraud of a twin is “dead”?

Bitch, please.

Yeah, I explained it, however you know it goes around here. If it doesn't jibe with the agenda, it's conveniently ignored or it's twisted and contorted to make fit.

What I said was you can't claim Johnny "took advantage" of a mentally ill woman when said mentally ill woman set up the entire situation perfectly to coerce Johnny into having sex with her. She claimed if he didn't, she'd tell Sonny Johnny attacked her and that Sonny would kill Johnny, which would guarantee Johnny stayed quiet about Connie's plans, giving her time to find someone else to take Johnny's place in her scheme. Under the law, what Connie did was considered coercion. Those are the facts of this story. Like it or not, personal feelings about Johnny's ethics in this situation don't change them.

People are just intentionally being goddamn obtuse about this.

JASON DIDN'T KEEP THINGS FROM SAM WHILE TELLING THEM TO LIZ, FIRST! Sam was not second to Liz in knowing Jason was upset about Robin's death. Sam was not second to Liz in knowing that Franco was Jason's twin. Sam was not second to Liz in knowing that her baby was actually Franco's. Sam's a goddamn idiot! Own it, Sam Lovers!

I enjoy her, I do, but Tea is still fuckin' crazy.

She won't apologize when Vic turns up alive, either. This is more about Todd not wanting her, and her "Todd" not being Todd. She didn't get it all, so everybody's gotta hear about it.

I hope KDP's movie does not interfere with a return as Blair at some point soon. I'd feel bad for GH, but after the last ten years, why?

I detected a tiny bit of hair-eating today from Tea, but it was pretty blink-and-you-miss-it. Her screeching, on the other hand? Oy.

I really do alternate between hating her and laughing at her too much to take her seriously. It's a problem.

At the same time, though, between Tea returning, Blair being away, and OLTL not being nominated, I must have pissed in the Soap Gods' Corn Flakes one morning and forgot about it later. Do I have DID? laugh.png

But Cheap has her girl back and evidently a pony, too. She's clearly pleased the Soap Gods a lot wink.png .

Am I the only one here who liked KSu yesterday and today? I thought she did pretty well.

Spinelli, NEVER call Felicia "Madre of Maximista" again. His jargon was a bit too much today.

I want to see Emma again.

I'm pretty sure my level of love for Heather is illegal somewhere. She is just too awesome. wub.png

And she still loves her iced tea! smile.png

But apparently she didn't try hard enough with Maggie. Maybe she'll do better with Olivia.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mac & Felicia together again. And this is from someone who loves watching F&F clips, too.

LMAO, couldn't have said it better myself!

The problem is that the writing for Carly should have positioned her as the perennial outsider, the anti-heroine, tinged with a vulnerability and realness that connect us to her.

Instead, she became the ultimate insider, the "wonderful heroine and mother" who is insanely propped to the detriment of many other characters (Robin, Brenda, AJ and the Qs were the first in a long line).

And she is played by LW as Queen Bee, as pageant princess, who thinks that stomping around like a neighing horse breaking in new hooves is an acceptable substitution for actual emotion and complexity.

If she wants to channel Morgan Fairchild, for the love of god, she needs to study why Morgan Fairchild won viewers over -- infusing her characters with witty bitchiness, charm, smarts, incisiveness, romance, glamour and some measure of humanity. Not words I would associate with Snarly, ever.

Tea looks gorgeous in pink. I didn't mind the "8 years... that's your excuse". Mostly because I couldn't buy Irene as torturing him (unless it was with eye rolling, smirking, and mugging). Irene (and Barbara Rhoades) was way too campy to buy as a real villain, though I loved it. But I'm glad Todd has no remorse for "killing" Victor. I don't care about them ever finding out that Victor is alive, since I loathed him.

I'm only watching Todd, Starr, and Tea. But I enjoy Carly/LW in a "so bad it's good" kinda way. It would be hilarious if Carly and Tea decided to have scenery chewing contests! I hate Carly, but I would pay a lot of money to see it!! Maybe BR/Irene can join them!!!!!!!!!

RC is going to ruin this. I'd be more invested in this part of GH if KDP was there too, but Frons, RC, and FV never cared about Blair. Still, Todd/Starr/Tea made me feel like I was watching OLTL again. It was the only soap I cared about watching.

    • I think they’re desperately trying to cover his awful tattoos. But anyway them being unable to style short kings properly has been a major pet peeve of mine for a while now.  I honestly don’t understand what some people expect from actors to even begin considering them for recognition. Let’s be real—awards mostly mean that an actor is respected by their peers and has some level of cultural relevance. Actual judgment on the acting itself? That’s often secondary—highly subjective and shaped by the times. I completely agree on both points. If you’re an actor or a dancer you shouldn’t get any tattoos (sorry not sorry). Tomas’ tattoos are ugly too. And regarding the couples- you’re completely right. These writers are unable to write romance.   Further comments: - Kat cannot be this dumb to keep tampering with evidence over and over again. And I’m officially not a fan of the actress—every time she’s in a scene with Leslie, she doesn’t seem intimidated at all. She plays it like comic relief, which is just too much, especially when paired with Leslie’s histrionics and over-the-top antics. Leslie is older, dangerous, and has literally been portrayed as homicidal—Kat should be at least a little scared. • I also didn’t like Kat playing damsel in distress with the hotel manager. It gave off the same weird energy as Dani with the cop. I would’ve much preferred the version Paul Raven suggested, with her sneaking in through housekeeping. • And yes, Dani again accused Hayley of faking the pregnancy—this time even specifying she might be using a pillow under her shirt. (No fake miscarriage being mentioned) I stand by my take: this is ridiculous writing. No one in the real world—except us, the chronically online soap watchers—would even think of such a conspiracy theory. Haley is no Beyoncé. • What in the world was Chelsea wearing in her hair the other day? And this whole thing with Madison is beyond cringe. Chelsea’s coming off as needy and toxic—basically like every other Dupree. • I’m glad the casino storyline is moving forward, but it’s still boring as hell. Honestly, I’d be so here for a plot twist where Vanessa and Doug take Joey out. • The direction and editing lately have been rough. Abrupt cuts, weird pacing… something just feels off overall. There’s a strange uneasiness to how it’s all coming together. • And finally: Tomas is too much of a saint. Where are the messy sluts when you need them? (Vanessa doesn’t count.)
    • I was watching some August 1987 episodes and they brought back so many memories. I had some thoughts: Lisa and Jamie were so dull. Lisa was such a nothing character. It boggles my mind that so much story was centered around her in such a short amount of time. Joanna Going is a talented actress, but the material was just not there.  It was so good to see Wallingford and Mitch again. I know there was talk about Felicia a while back, but these episodes reminded me how integral Felicia was for the show.  Sally Spencer was done so dirty. She is turning in superb performances in an icky storyline. I wish she had stuck around longer. She has chemistry with everyone. The McKinnons should have lasted longer. Spencer had some strong stuff with Stephen Schnetzer and Mary Alexander. AW waster such a talented actress by getting rid of her. Justice for Cheryl too. I also missed Ed Fry when he left. Sandra Ferguson was a star from the moment she came on. She was charismatic and just popped. She had immediate chemistry with RKK and blended in well with Wyndham and Watson. I'd forgotten about the teenage Matthew.  I have no memory of Peggy Lazarus. She must not have lasted long. Was the original plan for John that he was going to turn out to be the twins' real father?
    • If the new and improved copies that @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded can be manually moved into the "by month, by year" folders, that would be awesome. I personally don't think it's necessary to keep the older versions (which either have Dutch subtitles hard coded on them, or are lesser in picture quality). That's a lot of valuable drive space that could be cleared. Just my view but can appreciate others may feel differently. The structure had been by month by year previously, so I think it would be easier to conform to that, where so much prior work to get it to that format has already been done. Hopefully you can "drag and drop" so the new copies are in the right month/year? Re Clips, I never look at them now we pretty much have the episodes in full. Appreciate others may use, however. Thanks for all your hard work here @BoldRestless!
    • Oh yes defintely, Josh Griffith repeats and repeats the same storylines.
    • Isnt’t this storyline similar to the Cameron Kirsten situation though? Sharon thought she killed him. He ended up being alive and Sharon was being tormented with thinking she was seeing his face everywhere and that’s how we got that iconic scene with her and Nikki in the sewers.   I understand in Mariah’s case this is different circumstances but it does seem like a play on that whole thing. Maybe I’m wrong. I just wish if they were going to make any character follow in Sharon’s foot steps it would be Faith. Mariah wasn’t even raised by her, and her personality is different. I would expect her to take a different path. I understand I could be completely jumping ahead because the storyline hasn’t even played out yet but we’ll see.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven Monica was completely without redeeming qualities at this point. I always found the whole Monica = Carly narrative regressive, as I don't think shows comparing characters so heavily is ever a great idea, but she's actually worse than Carly was. Was it the Pollocks who had Leslie have a miscarriage?  Giving her a child, especially by rape, was not a good idea, but a part of me wishes they'd committed to it just to see what story it might have had in later years.
    • @janea4old Your detailed explanation and delving into the psychology and motivations is no doubt the opposite of what we will see onscreeen. As @ranger1rg stated we will get a few scenes and some sketchy explanations. Like the adoption of Aria, most of it will take place off screen.
    • I'm suddenly fearful that DAYS is going to pull a Flowers-for-Algernon stunt and Bo's progress will be reversed.  While @te. is stuck on Abe's tiny bedroom, I can't stop thinking of the size of Bo's huge hospital room.
    • Okay, why are Paulina and Abe sleeping like that?!  I'd take a screen grab if I wasn't lazy, but come on.
