The holiday movie tells the tale of Wyatt (Porte) coming home to convince his mother (MacDowell) to sell the family ranch, only to fall in love with ranch hand Heath (di Pace). Both actors are openly Out and hope the LGBTQ+ story will encourage other networks to be inclusive in their storytelling. The cast also includes Katherine Bailess (Erica Marsh, One Tree Hill), Caroline Harris (Bruh), and Carlos Sanz (Victor Rodriguez, Another World). The more I think about it, the more I think that Y&R really missed an opportunity for a viable LGBTQ storyline. Just think...the grandson of Mary Williams coming out and Paul wrestling with his conservative Christian upbringing and loving his son. Instead, viewers got... that story that ended up being the end of Ricky.
