December 6, 201114 yr Member Perhaps this is unfair to everyone who isn't Robin Christopher, Kale Browne or some other FOJ, but one of the only redeeming qualities about her career is at least she took care of her friends. That's admirable. I don't think there is any doubt that RC's returns to GH the last couple of years were because JFP was her friend. But is Skye necessary to bring back to GH? She's not even a Quartermaine. Personally, I hate when FOJs show up on GH. I would rather see iconic GH vets like Laura, Anna, Felicia or Holly. I while I like NLG, I know the only reason the over 40 woman is on GH is because of JFP. It irks me.
December 6, 201114 yr Member Lest we forget what she did to AW's Donna and Matt, one of my favourite storylines ever. Unforgivable! All because she thought that Matt should be with a younger woman. Even more unforgivable was JFP's brutal slaying of Frankie (Another World) and killing off Maureen (Guiding Light). Those acts make her an unacceptable producer, imo.

It certainly wasn't because she had any purpose on the show...or on any show since about 1991, IMO.
December 6, 201114 yr Member Well, at least now we won't have to see John Bolger's expressionless face show up as Mayor Floyd. I mean, seriously? The mayor facilitating a high school graduation ceremony? Not only that, but a private school? Talk about finding excuses to shoehorn your buddy into a story to justify giving him a paycheck. December 7, 201114 yr Member Don't forget Kale Browne's omnipresent voice-overs since 2001. He has child support to pay. She apparently tried to get him onscreen again as a priest during some kind of mob intrigue storyline with Ric and Alexis, but it didn't make it out of the writers' room. December 7, 201114 yr Member She also would have killed off Donna if fans hadn't spoken up. And she and Anna Stuart are still friends...in fact, Anna Stuart wasn't even aware that JFP planned to kill Donna off until an interviewer a year ago told her.

I am a goddamn psychic. No sooner than I post this than WHOSE random ass face shows up in today's GH episode?! Mayor Floyd. Sorry -- now ex-Mayor Floyd. How the HELL did that happen?

I understand but just as a human being JFP knew her friend Robin Christopher was more important than the fictional storyline on GH. If I were JFP I would have done the same when it came to my friends. What good is having friends in high places if they don't use their high place for their friends?
December 7, 201114 yr Member What good is having friends in high places if they don't use their high place for their friends? Because it's we, the audience, who has to suffer in the end.
December 7, 201114 yr Member Because it's we, the audience, who has to suffer in the end. I understand that, I was saying from her personal pov it was admirable she used her position for the betterment of all her friends. Not everybody does that.
December 7, 201114 yr Member Listen, if you want to better your friends' lives, then go manage a Taco Bell. A television series that costs millions of dollars to keep going and has to cater to the widest possible audience should not be used as a personal playground for you and your homies. This is business, and in this business, you put aside friendships and do what's best for the product. Edited December 7, 201114 yr by Khan
December 7, 201114 yr Member You're right: not everyone uses their position to better the lives of their friends. That's because not everyone is that stupid. December 7, 201114 yr Member That wasn't an insult -- at least, not toward you. Sorry if you took it that way, though.
December 7, 201114 yr Member Skye was boring on OLTL and she was worse on GH. Skye developed 'relationships' and 'rivalries' overnight. The more Jill tried to make the character work on those shows, the worse it got.
