AMC: Shocking new chapter in Lucci's book

Regarding my comment that one actress seldom portrays two different and successful characters, I was referring to television in general.

Well, I would provide a list of actresses' names that refutes your argument, Max, but I'm scared of what commercials featuring Beatrice Arthur or Lucille Ball someone will dig up on YT. tongue.png

“An iconic show was losing out to greed,” she allegedly writes. “If Brian Frons could show his bosses that he could save the network 40 percent … he could keep his job even if the rest of us lost ours… I watched Brian Frons’ decisions destroy the production of our show and the lives of people on both sides of the country… [He] has what, for me, is that fatal combination of ignorance and arrogance. I cannot fathom any network executive choosing to alienate millions of loyal viewers in these economic times.”

Wow! You go Susan!

WTF? Y'all, I am so sorry. I take personal responsibility for this thread going off-topic. My bad.

It didn't just go off-topic... It became a nightmare. Thanks! :)

As a kid I loved Joyce Dewitt! I was, being the out-of-the box fight the power kind of kid that I was always went against the grain and rooted for the underdog...while other gravitated down sexy blond bimbo Chrissy, I thought dark-haired girl with brains Janet was the cat's meow.

"Madea's Big Break" -- At last, Mabel Simmons, better known as "Madea," gets the one thing she don't need: her own TV show. Specifically, a courtroom show where the stripper-cum-foster mother dishes out her own unique brand of justice. And playing the part of her harried, drama-prone producer? None other than Robin Strasser.

Sounds like a hit to me!

Oh well, the thread's derailed anyway. I might as well chime in. TC was never #1, ever (season-wise). And it kept high ratings up until the final season, when the simple fact that it was an aging show did it in more than anything else. I love Suzanne, and I totally prefer the early seasons, but her departure didn't kill the show at all.

But if Susan Lucci had departed from AMC at any point during the last 15-20 years, though, it would have TOTALLY tanked! (see what I did there?)

My bad

Jenilee Harrison sucked and looked like a horse, but I really liked Priscilla Barnes, and thought the show was still quite good when she was on.

Suzanne's departure didn't really hurt the show in the longrun in terms of being funny and whatnot. I thought the show survived quite well without her. Three's Company was never regarded as some type of quality television in the first place - funny as hell at times yes, but nothing deeper than that.

Ugh I hated Pricilla Barnes, her character was utterly grating

Now I know how Agnes Nixon must've felt after the Unabortion.

LaLucci talks about why she added the new chapter in her book

http://www.tvguide.c...ir-1037029.aspx

"The book had gone to print well before the cancellation and they felt my story wasn't complete without my response to the show going off the air," Lucci says. "They wanted my honest and raw reaction to it. At first I didn't know what to say or even think. I was so upset and angry and stunned that my eyeballs were spinning in my head. But I sat down with my co-writer, Laura Morton, and we talked it through. And it is indeed raw. Very raw."

Lucci tells us she has no regrets about blasting her former boss, nor did she rush into it hastily to meet a publication deadline. "We got word about the cancellation right before Easter vacation, so I spent the first part of my vacation working on the new chapter," Lucci says. "Then I went away for a while and came back to revisit the material and work on it some more. I wanted it to be candid."

I love this part:

The "epilogue" to her "career?" Puh-leeze! Lucci, who's been meeting with lots of TV bigwigs lately, including Desperate Housewives' Marc Cherry, tells us she'll soon report for work on her fourth episode of TV Land's Hot in Cleveland where she plays herself and the arch-enemy of Wendie Malick's character Victoria Chase. Better watch out, Victoria, La Looch is on fire!

Barbara Walters started season premiere thanking Brian Frons at ABC daytime. She showed them the one page ad of the View's season premiere. She continued to thank Frons/Sweeney for their continued interest in View LMAO. Of course last minutes brought out Carla Hall from the Chew to do cross promotion. I just find out this was all because of Sweeney/Frons being blindsided by Lucci's attack of him over the weekend that made the internet. Lucci is a very POWERFUL figure as she is worth 30 to 50 million dollars and she is a huge power. She could also write her ticket anywhere, anyplace and anytime. Its one thing when Robin went after Frons but Lucci even though people think it was too late. Today was validation the attack Lucci did blindsided Sweeney and Frons. What worse thing could it be when the QUEEN OF DAYTIME attacks you and it was first time in 41 years Lucci ever spoke up about anyone. Lucci still has never discussed her SMG feud. He had to huge BW an icon to endorse him LMAO.

Yep, Frons has the honor of being the first person Susan Lucci has EVER publicly blasted. I hope that bald fat ass is proud.

I don't know why they think anyone will care what Baba says. The only reason Baba became famous was because people made fun of her. Then The View became famous for people humiliating themselves on a daily basis.
