MAB must goto the Bob Guza school of killing off longterm soap characters that shouldn't be killed off. Don't worry. On MAB's Y&R DIane will turn up

alive in another couple of months.

Its actually a shame because they finally give Diane something to do and MW is actually doing a decent job now that Diane is more than just a slut. She actually has decent chemistry with MM also. What a waste

People will just blame Maura West and will ooh and ah at the usual overproduced stunts. Then it's time for another stunt casting failure, all of which will be blamed on the actor, not the show, least of all MAB.

MAB can't wait to dump Maura though. I can see it now...Friday ends with a shot of her dead body...Monday picks up with Jack and Kyle in black suits, returning from her funeral. By the following Friday, Jack will be meetin' his next 'ho with Kyle by his side.

Diane is never mentioned again.

It will be like Ji Min Kim and no one would care.

Stupid to write off Diane and even more stupid to kill her off. Sucks for Kyle and this terrible writing has ruined the legacy of the character.

Dear Lord. How many murder mysteries has this show done in the last few years? Who cares anyway? Diane's not dying. We'll find out a few weeks into this, she's actually alive and did this all as some sort of pathetic revenge

I think Diane going to be alive living as a lesbian in Aussieland with Cane other brother, who's the triplet of Cane & Caleb or whatever the evil brother name was. & we going to find out he was in the state when Lily eggs was getting spermcide.

The fact that they're letting an unsuccessful recast take the character with her is an enormous slap in the face to both Susan Walters and Alex Donnelley. Well done Maria.

Good grief. What a bad decision. The ONLY way something like this would work is if the fallout from this would spin Kyle into a Rhoda Penmark type character, but I don't see that happening, Maria wouldn't have the balls to have a child villian on that show.

To be fair, JT and Mac left town not too long ago. But this is still a waste of a perfectly good character.

I wish Y&R would stop with all these sensational story-lines. William J Bell NEVER had to rely on these story tactics

That's just not true. Brad in a Cage? Tyrone pretends puts on white makeup to go undercover? Who shot Jill? Who shot Victor? Veronica shooting Nikki? Tricia killing Ryan?

Don't get me wrong, I'm SO disappointed in the past three years. I really stopped watching faithfully when Colleen was sacrificed. I came back for a bit, but then Philip alive (WTF?), then we had Sarah was final nail for me. Killing Diane is just wrong on so many levels. If they don't want MW, then send character off, leave Kyle with Jack. Simple. Oh, and Y&R has a LONG way to go to catch DAYS in the come back from the dead category.

Those were events within well written character driven umbrella stories totally unlike now where agenda driven plot points ARE the stories.

Plus murder mysteries lose their appeal when you do them ALL THE DAMN TIME. Throw in a little bit of doppleganger, mistaken identity, and/or a "Whoopsie! I'm not really dead!" and you have a typical MAB plotline
