All: Single Scenes You Think Should Have Won An Actor/Actress an Emmy

Which is a shame cause she had both the airtime & the material to justify several Emmy wins.

Though Lauren's later work inconsistent most of her stuff with Lago (and Luckinbill to a lesser extent) was definitely Emmy worthy.

Agreed that Fonseca was green but she also had more than enough material (especially during the beginning of her relationship with JT) to justify winning an Emmy.

It took awhile but I ended up liking Adrianne too.

Not more than Lyndsy but definitely I definitely appreciated Leon on her own merit.

She may have had Supporting airtime but she was turning in Lead work.

Margo wasn't on the "Divas" episode. It was Nancy, Lisa, Kim, Susan, Babs, Lucinda and Emma. And I don't think Tunie was still recurring. She was pretty much gone after the Marshall stuff ended. I thought the last thing she really did was represent Carly after Jack came home with amnesia to try and have him declared incompetant, and that was the fall of 2004.

Maura should have won in 2004 when Jack was presumed dead. And in 2008 when she told Jack she was dying. That was great stuff.

Agreed. Her work in her final year, ESPECIALLY in her final episode, more than justified a Lead Actress Emmy win.

Again, I agree. I would point to JT's affair with Anita Hodges as Fonseca's finest hour, and the fire at Gina's as some of the strongest work of both Luckinbill and Diamont's careers.

You're right about Margo, so that would have made Tunie out of place. The "Divas" episode was AMAZING IMO. Is any of that on youtube? The Kim/Susan scenes and flashbacks were divine.

I think you're wrong about Tunie though- I believe she was somehow involved in the Baby Switch story, wasn't she? Either in the part with Casey vs Gwen (paternity), Carly vs Gwen, or after Paul was shot. Either way, she appeared after 2004 and I remember her coming back and being involved somehow in story, which leads me to believe it was Baby Switch.

Also, didn't she defend Casey for cheating in college?

Disagree and history takes my side. Yes, the show itself only has one Best Drama Series Emmy but the actors are hardly ignored.

Slezak has won 5 times, Hilary B. Smith won Lead, Judith Light won Lead twice, Robin Strasser won Lead once, Susan Haskell has won in both Lead and Supporting, Roger Howarth has a Best Younger Actor win, Al Freeman Jr. won Lead Actor in '79, Bob Woods won Lead Actor in '83, Thom Christopher won Supporting Actor in '92, and OLTL won Outstanding Writing in '94 (deservedly IMO) and '08.

OLTL has the most Lead Actress wins of ANY soap! The only category that OLTL has never won is Outstanding Younger Actress.

So, while OLTL may not have a lot of wins in the 2000s (when the Emmy started losing its meaning), I'd hardly say the show as a whole has been ignored.

The Divas episode is definitely on youtube---that's how I checked.

Randomly checking episode counts, Tunie's still making appearances in 2006. She makes five appearances in Jan/Feb 07, and then nothing.

Yes, that scene with Robin Christopher on the witness stand was AMAZING, I will never get over Vanessa beating her that year. I remember I was watching and flipped the [!@#$%^&*] out, I ran all around my house cursing her name...my family laughed

I can't believe this wasn't posted, Tamara Braun rocked this scene, she gave it her all and then some.

I literally was JUST about to post that, too! I can't believe I forgot about it. That scene moves me to tears EVERY time. Here's another one from Michael's death that always gets me, from Tamara and Jackie both:

It's strange that NB was making fun of that clip - I thought Alfonso was very good, very raw.

Did they have Lexie as the doctor because of her history with Zack or did the show just use her because she was the only doctor on the canvas?

The beginning of that has the always awkward Reilly recapping...I think most viewers probably knew that Bo was Roman's brother.

Alfonso is GREAT in that clip. That deranged, guttural scream -- that's exactly how Hope would be in facing the death of a young child. Especially in a tragic, unexpected accident, after all they'd been through to get him and after they lost JT.

That ridiculous Reilly exposition kills me, though! Naming everyone by their full name, job title, and relation. God.

    • I think Bill covered for Martin's crime..
    • It's so jarring seeing the changeover from Sherry Mathis to Louan Gideon.  The vibe, mannerisms, and overall personality of Liza changes instantly. The chemistry Sherry has with both David F and Joe Lambie is gone the second the recast happens.  I wonder how viewers took the news of the recast since you didn't have time in between airings before the change happened. Quinn/Sarah... One overacts (Quinn) and one under acts (Sarah). Wendy of 1985 is a good mix of the 1982 sweet Wendy and the 1983/84 vixenish Wendy.
    • Oups!! I guess when i was doing the editing, i left a part of 3169, too (RTL Lounge airs 2 episodes per day back to back). Sorry about that ! Tonight i ll try to record 3171-3172. If i m not mistaken 3172 is missing from YouTube.

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.
    • thank you all for contributing to the Vault. I am slowly getting towards watching the 1998 episodes

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
