Oh god Deidre Hall is back to orgasm her way through every scene...I do like Drake..And I hope they have him interacting with Ari and Tamara again...I missed him saying Nikki K, sadly she's not a Kiriakis anymore...

I do wonder though with John returning will it actually be acknowledged that Brady is part DiMera....

They aren't just coming back for Sami's story are they?

If it were me I would bring in a recast Eric and also bring back Carrie and make this a family story.

Honestly I wish they could figure out a way to have them split up and both move on with their lives. I just don't really think Marlena/John as a couple worked - it was more interesting when they were split up by outside forces.

The problem is, John and Marlena's story as a couple is over. You can't do any more "Will they or won't they?" stories with these two. We've played other love interests, brainwashing, fake deaths, possession, more brainwashing, amnesia... over and over. You can't use them in that role anymore. I feel like they're iconic Days characters, but I haven't missed them on the show because I was so tired of watching the writers twist themselves inside out to keep J&M driving story. If they can be used in supporting roles, as parts of Sami and Brady's stories, and as friends to Bo and Hope, and as professionals, then by all means -- use them! They're wonderful, familiar faces who have been a big part of Salem history. I just can't buy anymore "Will John and Marlena reunite?" stories, especially with Dee gasping her way through them like some sort of 20-year-old ingenue.

^ I guess they could, but I don't see what the point of it would be. The characters' story arcs have been, ultimately, their great love story, and it just seems bizarre to have these two on canvas and not play them with one another. After all they've been through, it'd seem so frivolous to have them broken up for real.

Drake Hogestyn was one of the worst veteran actors to ever grace daytime and Deidre Hall is highly overrated. They and their stories were so played out. IA with the notion that they as a supercouple is over. The only interest I see in having Marlena back is to be a mother to Sami. I see no other potential from her unless they go the typical, obivious Dimera route with these two and again, its beyond played out. Personally Id rather they be utilized as Kayla has. They dont have to live in Salem but they still are just a phone call away when their family needs them. Their time as leads is over

I guess I don't see any story for them together and I don't really enjoy them together - all the heavy breathing. I think that Marlena as a character was more interesting when she was on her own for a while after John "died", and I think RoboJohn had some interesting story with the DiMeras.

I know it won't happen but back when Roark first appeared as Mike I thought he and Marlena had good chemistry together. Then it was all dropped. I know that wouldn't happen now because of Mike/Carrie but it stuck with me.

I think I could like them just fine together as sort of the "old guard." Like I said above, use them as Sami and Brady's parents. Use Marlena as a (competent) psychiatrist. Play John in the cop stories. Have them support each other and their friends. Just don't insist on forcing these *~*~great epic romance~*~* tales down our throats when the stakes are totally gone because of the characters' long histories. Hell, if they can bring Kristen back for a big mystery/suspense story involving J&M, great. But the stakes have to be way different than "Will they or won't they reunite?" at this point.

I just hate this storyline so much. And I really, really hate when awful people keep getting rewarded for their awful behavior. Both in real life and in fiction. It’s not right. Say what you will about Sonny and Carly, but they’ve at least somewhat paid for their awful behavior. Not as much as they should but it was still more than this. How can anyone treat someone that they claim to care about so terribly? And then just not care at all about that person or what they did to them? Over at Days, I hated it when Ciara did it to Theo and I hated it when Craig did it to Nancy. But Joss is worse than the two of them put together. It’s like she not even human. I find her to be even worse than Carly. I know Carly has problems being a decent person too, but she would never treat the people that she says she cares about the way that Joss treated Cam and now to a lesser extent, Spencer and Michael. And honestly, I want Joss to suffer worse than any person on GH ever has.  I have absolutely no idea what the writers, or Frank are thinking with the way this storyline is being written. And do they seriously think that this consolation prize crap of Cam going to play soccer for Stanford (and Trina constantly reminding us of it) makes everything better? It doesn’t.
    • I hesitate to post Thompson, who is just a gleeful gossip hound. But this thread is instructive, even if much of it is stuff we all could've told the GOP and the NY Times six months ago.
    • Sure. They've been sent to live on a farm with other not gone actors where they can run and play.
    • From what I can find, Tim was datie Evie but got a job offer out of town that was too good to pass up and left in Nov 76. No mention of Pam and no reason I could see that a marriage would be mentioned later. I just checked Soap Central and there is an entry stating Evie left town and Pam and Tim were married. Not so.This is not the first false entry I have come across at that site. Someone takes delight at posting false info.
    • She's under Ryan (I added this).  Pam married Tim at some point-- from what I read. If not, let me know.
