I'm still a day behind but DAMN Marcy Rylan was really good in the scene where Abby destroys the wedding sight. It was such a classic soap moment. And her humming the wedding theme while we saw clips of Ash/Tucker gave me chills.

I think they're going to give Abby and alcoholism story.

I LOVE TRACI! <3 But why is her hair pink?

:lol::lol:

he flipped quickerthanthis and started the name calling I have never liked Niki with

Victor I accepted it but I never liked how he treated her he's done this all through the years

the same thing over and over and she takes him back ..."we belong together"

battered wife syndrome... what grates my nerve is

she hopped into bed with him in one eppy then backstrokes this is a mistake and all

this nonsense you're 50 years old get it together with this man. geeze I like how Katherine got

called out on her Victor worship by Tucker and Jack I watched it two times she faults Tucker

for doing the same thing Victor does...and tells Jack "that's why I never gave you Jabot"

HUH? Viotor is doing the same thing for Newman Enterprises its his legacy but Jack can't

do the same...Katherine needs to go sit down.

I love Maura, but the way they are writing Diane is killing me. I am a very frustrated viewer right now. First you have Diane who is throwing herself at every man on the show. She offers 70 year old Victor an open marriage, which he refuses. She sleeps with Jack. Then she basically makes utterly desperate passes at Nick, Michael and Tucker.

I think it's going to happen and Maura, Diane and viewers deserve better.

Then you have Nikki willing to cheat with Victor and take his abuse once again. Why would either of these women want his evil, old ass? They don't even need his money at this point, not really. They may not have as much as he does, but they have money from various settlements and child support and so forth, so screw Victor. I am so over his character.

I think the lack of focus for Diane indicates that Sheffer has gotten his wet dream wish---finally writing a character for Maura the way he wanted to write Carly. And that TIIC didn't really have a plan for Diane when she hit town. 'Cause if they did, Diane would have been embroiled in ANY of the female rivalries her history is littered with. She's had minor skirmishes with Nikki, Ash and Phyllis---but she's spent most of her time with the utterly bored Morrow, old fussbudget Jack and viagra-enhanced Victor.

They need to PICK a story and STICK with it.

I didn't think she made passes at Nick, Tucker or Michael this week. In fact, I nearly cheered when she finally shut down Nick and his lame-ass "apology" at the bar. The touchy-feely moment with Michael was a little odd, but simply friendly. What I totally don't get is why she'd run after Tucker on the strength of an apology and a text.

Me either. Not after the way he has blown her off. It's the desperation that is bugging me. It's so unnecessary. It's a lot like Sharon was being written at one point. The Michael thing struck me as sort of an invitation. If he had kissed her she would have gone with it, imo. She flirted with Tucker earlier in the week or was that last week? I can't keep track, I'll I'm saying is that Diane is a desperate mess who is after nearly every man in GC and it's gross and a waste of a good actress. If HS is behind this then he needs to go. Watching Sharon, Nikki and Diane crawl after these ridiculous men is not entertaining to me at all.

Yeah...every woman goes crawling back to the men who dumped them while every man gets to kick women out of their lives without a backward glance (although I say, I loved it when Jack kicked Phyl to the curb.)

I get why Abby hates Tucker...but the why she's so fixated on proving a ONS with Diane happened leaves me scratching my head. Yes, it was skeevy, but it's not like she's got any reason to believe it's an on-going affair. If he'd screwed the wedding planner or something, that I could understand. Not that Ash's indiscretions really make her morally superior to Tucker in the long run.

 Yeah, just about everyone is a cheater right now. It's pretty out of hand. It's hard to feel all that bad for anyone. I hate watching Nikki get smacked down by Victor one more time, but she did sleep with Diane's husband, so she opened herself up for it.

+1

...Trust - I have hated the way Diane's been written, or NOT written as it were. As a Maura fan, I've had more than a roller-coaster of emotions when it comes to this show. I guess I'm finally happy that she's on a little bit more. Don't get me wrong, they still need to give her a little bit more 'meat,' a little more context - WHY is she bouncing around from man to man? In the meantime, I'll enjoy her ramped up airtime these couple of weeks, because I'm CERTAIN that ain't going to last.

    • Very true...but TPTB all were desperate to get into prime time or films and couldn't, so they looked down on their own industry and tried to infuse themes that just didn't work in soaps. I would have thought after 9/11 the shows would have gone out of their way to provide that warmth and comfort that the audience wanted, and to bring old viewers back. Budget cuts? Just bring back kitchen sets, both ATWT and GL got rid of those besides one each..(the Snyders and the Bauers) You don't need super fancy sets if you have the writing.

    • LY has a job on another show. She's going to be on the Legally Blonde prequel "Elle"
    • From what I can put together, the 1980s had several actors with interrupted runs. Michael Zaslow: 1971-1980, 1989-1997 Maureen Garrett: 1976-1980, 1988-?, ?-end Christopher Bernau: 1977-1984, 1986-1988 Peter Simon: 1981-1984, 1986-1996, ?-end Maeve Kinkead: 1981-1987, 1989-1996, 1997-end Robert Newman: 1981-1984, 1986-1991, 1993-end Jordan Clarke: 1983-1987, 1989-1993, 1996, 1997-end By 1989, I believe the longest-tenured cast member without a departure was Jerry verDorn.
    • I know they were popular, but once they tamed Van's shrew, I thought Billy just brought Van down. Since they had just Nola and Billy sitting around in 97, an interesting thing would be if they had developed a friendship that turned into something else while Van was "dead". Maybe Billy lives at the Boardinghouse (to work on repaing his relationship with Bill) and works at Company instead of the stupid diner. Nola and Bridget give him a job there and Nola and Billy (who had originally been a bit antagonistic) slowly build up a relationship and then Van returns. A returned new lease on life Van would return to her "high hat ways" and take on the Spaulding's for control of the company with Billy helping her behind the scenes.  I know that Jordan was on sporadically because of his issues and them not know if they could trust him not to fall of the wagon, but they could have done it slow..and give Van and Nola a new reason to get in each others hair (I love a good Van/Nola tussle.)

Perhaps it wasn't the most well-played match in history, but that's something no one will remember in a few years time.
    • The thing with Martin (for me) is that he should have been Anita and Vernon's kid. I honestly think he would have been fine being an older or younger brother to Dani and Nicole. It also would have made his relationship and kids feel more realistic. A handsome salt and pepper late 40s/early 50s congressman who settled down and adopted kids to fit an image for politics. Not that he didn't want this lifestyle but it is what he needed to do to get ahead. Also, we don't often get older characters playing LGBT roles not just on daytime but across most media. It would have been a refreshing take. As an alternative, Sam and Ty could have been Martin's kids from an earlier marriage a la the NJ governor that was outed. We could have also seen parallels between Vernon and Anita thinking back to how they handled Martin coming out compared to the way they accepted Chelsea.  As for Martin being Nicole and Ted's kid, I do wish in this case he was not tied to a marriage and kids, so that he could date and sleep around like any other character on a soap.  Yeah, I didn't get it...but what I did get is that girl is a bit crazy like her mama.  Vanessa and Joey talking about the poker table...get these people off my screen.

    • Unpopular opinion, but I didn't think the show should have reunited Billy/Vanessa at all until the final stretch of the show. When watching the 1989 episodes when both Vanessa and Billy return after being off the show... I liked that Vanessa had moved on from him and that the show was hinting at her wanting to reunite with her first love Ross while looking down at Nadine for being the one Ross was dating.  And I loved the twist where Billy and Nadine teamed up to keep Vanessa/Ross apart.   This was an interesting concept that sadly the writers dropped with the show deciding to make Vanessa pine over Billy between 1990 and 1993 when they finally reunited.   To me, Vanessa pining over Billy seemed out of character. At least once Billy was carted off to prison in 1994... she and Billy divorced and stayed divorced until the final months when they finally found their way back together.  During the years when they were divorced, I liked that they had maintained a friendship and connection.. with viewers (like my late mom) wondering if they would ever decide to make it work again. I wish the show had tried that with Josh/Reva because by the time of the final episode when they rode off into the sunset, I didn't care because we'd been through the make up and break ups between them for over 10+ years by that point.
