I watched OLTL religiously from 1968 to 1983. I find it amusing (well, baffling, really) that complaints about the writing would arise "en masse" about Gordon Russell. From 1968-72, with Agnes Nixon a

Thanks

Was Weil EP long most places Ive seen dont even give her any credit

I wish OLTL had not killed off Beth Garvey in 1994. She was good with Jason plus MB was leaving anyway so they should have left town

Plus Beth is River's bio Mom that could have been utilized for story over the year

Also Beth didnt like Todd, she was scared of him

There were rumors that Todd was River's Dad but I dont remember if OLTL ever fully addressed who was the bio dad

I've mentioned this before, but I've always assumed that the name River was a tribute to River Phoenix (at least on the part of the writing staff). The timeline between his death and Cassie discovering River at St. James is just too close to be a mere coincidence. It's not like his name really took off for baby boys until after he died.

I guess they dubbed Anthony Stewart Head in the US version of those coffee ads. Jarring.

Eww, the dubbed voice is not nearly as nice as ASH's own.

Susan Bedsow Horgan is on the FB group for The Doctors, where her husband Patrick Horgan first achieved daytime fame. I could ask her. I believe she was on the writing staff then (and became EP in the spring of 1994).

According to what I read online, his voice was not dubbed. Rather, he and the actress used an American accent in the the U.S. commercials.

Yeah I saw another one after this and she had her accent while I realized he was using an American accent. Bizarre.

I asked Susie Bedsow Horgan that question on FB. Here is her answer: "You know I don't remember. Could have been but I really have no idea. Sorry!"

Thank you! I have a feeling they did, though. The timeline is too coincidental otherwise.

I agree. Maybe it was the idea of Michael Malone or one of the other writers.
