I would've liked Phil, Tara, and Chuck to continue, mostly because they would've been a fixture of multigenerational story telling.

However, I also wonder if their progress would've been stunted due to Erica?  Once Erica became the center of attention, and given that it was established that she and Tara were the same age, maybe they would've been hard-pressed to write more mature stories for Tara and Chuck, while keeping Erica eternally youthful.

I'm not slighting Lucci.  Nor am I forgetting that they SORASed Tara kids.  However, the direct contrast may have creatively difficult to balance.  Obviously, the reasons are multi-variant.  Yet, I often wonder if certain characters are sacrificed in order to continue telling the stories of their peers.

That being said, one of my biggest grievances with AMC was the eventual détente between Phoebe and Erica.  It was as if later writers completely forgot the past in a way that Phoebe would not have.

This has some April 1997 episodes, including a Daytime to Remember from 1983 which is already on Youtube but the audio is not great on the Youtube upload. I don't think the "new" April 1997 episodes are on Youtube right now.

Unfortunately, I suspect the AMC Christmas movie was DOA about ten minutes after the media had reported on it.

Granted, I wasn't looking forward to the movie anymore than I was to that dreadful-sounding Pine Valley-meets-Riverdale reboot, but I think the media needs to back off on reporting anytime someone gets a wild idea to revive this-or-that series.  For one thing, less than half of such notions ever make it past the "tentative talks" stage in the entertainment industry.  For another, all that the media's reporting is actually doing is just pissing off those who truly care about seeing their favorite shows and characters again, and who are left disappointed when it doesn't come to pass.

I doubt it, it hasn't been that long. I rather doubt it's dead, Lifetime has a pretty tight system in place re: their product unlike ABC taking a flyer on a primetime pilot script based off a daytime soap which was the "Pine Valley" project a few years ago.

I am not going to begrudge AMC returning in a format that could lead to it running and running with a series of TV movies. The Lifetime/Hallmark pipeline stretches on forever these days. I just hope they're of some quality if and when they do come along.

I read it elsewhere (and I wish I could give them credit, but I know how forums are), but did you all hear that Sabine Singh hopped on an X/Space and spilled tea on her time on AMC? Supposedly, the following was said:

  • Sabine auditioned for a character named Sarah and didn’t find out she was replacing Greenlee until after she was hired. She freaked out because Greenlee was such an important role.
  • She and Alicia Minshew worked crazy hours (ranging from filming from morning to almost midnight) every workday. Sabine would sneak and sleep in her dressing room to prevent having to commute. Susan Lucci refused to do that and only filmed once a week (doing 9 episodes that day).
  • She hated the Aiden/Greenlee pairing. Allegedly, Turner was a drunk and on drugs. No one wanted to be paired with him b/c he wasn't professional. Allegedly, this is how Kelli Giddish wiggled out her contract.
  • Said he once scolded her and said, “Be quiet before I shove my d*ck in your mouth,” and the entire set went silent. TPTB was brought in; however, b/c the pairing was popular, no punishment occurred.
  • Budig was asked back numerous times. Budig wanted to make it in LA until she couldn't and agreed to return.
  • Sabine/RB had the same manager, who was secretly negotiating on RB's behalf (wasn't it M*chael B*uno)? She was fired over the phone by the agent and Julie Hannan Carruthers. Carruthers asked if Sabine was still coming to work her last tape weeks and whether she wanted a cake.
  • Sabine threw a fit on the on first day back on set after being fired. Said TK got wind and rallied the cast behind Sabine. She got nice gifts from Thorsten & Cameron.
  • She didn't get to say farewell to the cast as they made her shoot late on her last day.
  • The “real Greenlee” promo hurt, but she was more upset by Brian Frons publicly saying she couldn’t act or fit in Rebecca Budig’s "Manolos." Thorsten sent her a note with the coat he’d given her saying she may not fit Rebecca’s shoes, but that coat would always be hers.
  • Learned that Brian Frons blocked her from an Emmy nomination when her name appeared on the pre-nomination ballots by threatening the cast not to vote for her.
  • Once ABC got rid of Frons, he tried reaching out to Singh via LinkedIn but she blocked him.

SN: I think it might be true as the host of a soap space on X thanked her.

    • I'll get back to you when Jordan appears on screen. Lol!
    • Don't feel bad: most do. I know it's in the "less than" category of opinions. And lunch? What's for lunch today?

Definitely am improvement overall, hah. I want someone to call him "bastard". Ha. Maybe I should sneak into Port Charles for a second.
    • A very underrated writer/director, IMO.  Of course, not all of his films were successful or memorable, but the ones that are - "Kramer," "Places in the Heart," "Nobody's Fool," etc. - are masterpieces.
    • I tend to ignore the fact you like Tanisha Harper.  She just blends in.  When she comes on screen I literally mind drift and think what I want for lunch. Melgar's Lily at least iconically blew up!!!  And once you know she's going to explode LM is tolerable in rewatch. It's coming!!  Half the young people in town call him "Uncle Sonny" or, well, "Dad" lol.  You know Emma's going to be on that bandwagon.
    • Jennifer Brooks had insisted that life go on since all her family knew that death might be eminent for her. Brock had given them a philosophy by which to live. "God grant me the serenity to accept that which I cannot change, the courage to change that which I am able and the wisdom to know the difference." Lorie asked her father to let her give a big party for the family and friends to celebrate her parents' thirtieth wedding an-niversary. He disapproved until Lorie said this was not a reminder of how little time there was, but a celebration of the life they had had together. Jennifer was pleased and looked forward to the party.  That evening, Stuart gave Jennifer her anniversary gift before the party rather than after. It was a diamond heart pendant to symbolize the heart he gave her long ago — his own. Lance and Lorie gave them a trip to Paris as a gift. Stuart had wanted to take Jennifer away, but she wouldn't leave the girls with their problems. The party was such a success that Jennifer told Stuart that this had been the most wonderful night of her life. Jennifer slipped away in Stuart's arms that night, clutching her pendant.  Stuart called Lorie who located all her sisters and asked them to meet at their parents'. He explained that their mother felt no pain and was happy as she passed peacefully away. Peggy felt she should have been home for her mother rather than visiting a friend, but Stuart said it was sudden. Lorie blamed herself for giving the party which was probably too much. Stuart told her how much that party meant to Jennifer. Brock came by to tell them that Jennifer had him draw up instructions for her burial and wanted only her family with her. He also had a letter for Stuart. She wrote him this love letter in case she didn't have the opportunity to tell him in person how much their life together had meant to her and this is why she wanted him to remarry.  Snapper visited his mother after he learned of Jennifer's death. He felt he hadn't seen enough of her recently.  After the funeral, Peggy told her sisters that she would not be going away to school. She was the only one left to care for their father because Chris and Lorie had husbands and Leslie had a career. Stuart insisted that Peggy finish packing and catch her plane to school as planned.  Chris was worried about her father after Snapper told her to keep an eye on him because grieving husbands could become ill as they didn't remember to eat. She called to insist that she was coming over to fix his dinner and found that Liz was there. Liz asked him for an extra key so that she could do the laundry and cleaning to repay him for earlier kindnesses.
    • I would assume "friends of Ripa" would come into play.

    • I'm aware of that but I was more curious about which characters were going to be included and what actors they were loooking at.
    • Harper > Melgar (yes, I said it) I happen to be in the lonely camp of actually liking Harper as Jordan, although I still believe Jordan, as a character, could easily be eliminated from the canvas, and I would be A-OK with it. Honestly, the character of Jordan went from interesting to expendable the moment she was taken out of the Jerome circle and made a law enforcement agent. I'm not age-shaming Finola Hughes either. It simply comes down to the characters at this point. To go from interacting with David Hayward and Edmund on AMC to Jason and Sonny on GH... is an actual choice. Hell, I'd even add Valentin to that list.

    • Much like I always say Tanisha Harper is very pretty, so was Lilly Melgar.  Very pretty lol. She wore very cute slip dresses that young carolineg adored lol.  She's probably not even a bad actress. Lily (the character) had 0 charisma and when you are working with 90's Mo and Vanessa, and, uh...Ricky Martin you need some spark.  People can have friends of all ages and I am not age shaming Anna or Finola, but Jason/Sonny are your daughter's friends.  My mother isn't friends with my friends or at least doesn't actively hang out with them lol. Yeah, I don't really care if Emma has scenes with Sonny.  I am just waiting for her to bust out the "Uncle Sonny" nickname.
    • Oh see, I remember now. Thank you; I do recall those scenes standing out in my head! Plus, the all-too-underutilised Chaunteé Schuler as Bonnie. That was a surprising, yet good, recast.
