AMC and OLTL Canceled!

Yes, it is a very sad day, indeed! I grew up on the ABC soaps and while I can no longer stomach how vapid OLTL & GH have become, it saddens me to see AMC go.

"The Chew" sounds even worse than CBS' "The Talk." Maybe we should send manure to Brian Frons to let him know how we feel. :)

I was in class bored as I don't know what when I read this on my phone. I started bawling my eyes out! Seriously devastating news, I don't know what to do with myself! :(

And I think it sucks and is kind of unfair that both soaps won't end at the same time. IMO both of those new crappy shows can wait, I don't understand why AMC & OLTL can't end at the same time in January. And AMC could've added one more year to it's reign on television. I just can't even...

HEARTBREAKING Day :(

A talk show about food. What exactly is there to say? It tastes good or it doesn't. Then what?

It's going to be bullshit prattle about how food makes one happy and how meaningful it is. Well there is a perfect show for a country battling an obesity problem. How cynical.

And I don't even understand what the other show is about. It's about nothing.

Frons will soooooooooooo bring Cam & Rebecca to GH, mark my words

I wish Nathan Fillion could return for the end, I have NO doubt he would be there with bells on

I feel bad for how they used her to lie to the audience. I'm not saying she lied, but she believed what they told her.

I'm really going to miss AMC, the first soap I ever watched. I cannot believe it only has 4 months to wrap up, that's ridiculous and doesn't even seem like enough. Lorraine will do everything she can to make the ending special though, I know it. I have no doubt we'll see David Canary & Julia Barr back for sure in the end.

    • Assuming that Marland had been allowed to write the Carrie story the way he'd envisioned, Millette would've been involved in the story. And she might've played a role in Andy Norris' return (if the speculation on that had ever materialized, and Marland loved bringing back bad boys) But he doesn't seem interested in Sara's personal life. And the women of Springfield could only be analyzed so much.
    • This better be something, because as I said, so far it's just cliches and stereotypes -- the story we've heard a thousand times about the homeless person who doesn't want a home and prefers to live on the streets.
    • @rsclassicfanforever thank you very much for the recent uploads of season 13 containing some episodes that were skipped or glitchy on YouTube!  I had a look at 3172 though and there is no audio for most of it? Would you have a copy with complete audio? Fingers crossed! Thanks again!

    • I like Margaret well enough in what I've seen of her as Paige - she is green but she has real star power.  I agree about the actor who plays Brian. He's...mostly just there. Not bad but not great.  My main issue is with the guy who plays Owen. He's just not appealing to me. I can believe Nola being obsessed with him, but he's draining to watch.  I'm surprised people objected to the quasi-incest elements as it wasn't anything that new for soaps.  Speaking of Kim, here's a rare episode of an anthology show she did called The Evil Touch.

    •   I get what you're both saying, and I think the show was lucky to have even made it that long, but I think they could have still maintained a certain audience - Second Chances did before the earthquake. CBS was an older network anyway. I think the premise of Knots was still usable, it was more the characters who were a problem - many of the older figures were played out. If the show had done a better job building up its younger cast instead of making so many poor choices in the late '80s and early '90s, they could have kept things going a little longer.
    • I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.
    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
